@_HNNDRX The only way I can see Reaves agreeing to a sign and trade is if he gets max level contract and goes to a team he wants. But in exchange the Lakers would need something in equal value. I’d do Reaves + Picks to Boston, Jaylen Brown to the Lakers, and Giannis to the Celtics tho

Ehh I think that’s kinda misleading. Dumont definitely was on board and ultimately needed to/and did sign off, but that was Nico’s vision and Jason Kidd wanted it just as badly as Nico, if we’re being honest. Dumont did not approach Nico and tell him he needed to go start secretly sourcing trades for Luka. Nico had the idea (arguably with Kidds influence) and THEN sold Dumont on it…

The only person who remains, essentially, who had a say in the Luka Doncic trade is the owner, Patrick Dumont, who is basically trying to wipe his hands clean and walk away without Mavs fans remembering he started it all. Quite ironic.

Jason Kidd just signed a massive extension last summer to remain with the Mavericks long-term, and he had the backing of Cooper Flagg. It will be interesting to see what direction Masai Ujiri takes the Mavs, who have made it clear anyone involved with the Luka trade is out.
