The Pistons officially announce Cade Cunningham will be re-evaluated in two weeks, meaning he’ll miss at least the next eight games. As @BobbyMarks42 said earlier, he needs to play another five to make All-NBA and there’s 14 games left for Detroit.

The other interesting factor here is Detroit has a pretty difficult closing stretch. There are games against the Wizards, Bucks and Pacers (plus the Pels though they’ve been playing much better). But, also: MIN (X2), OKC, TOR, LAL, ATL, ORL Will be an interesting few weeks.

CJ McCollum has dealt with this a couple times in the past, missing three weeks in 2023 and six weeks in 2021. Three weeks from today would be heading into the final weekend of the regular season. Six weeks from today would be near the end of the first round of the playoffs.

Update on this, per @BobbyMarks42: Because Edwards only played three minutes before leaving with a hamstring injury back on October 26, Edwards only has 57 qualifying games. So, if he misses two weeks from today, he will be ineligible for end-of-season awards.

Edwards has missed 10 games. If he misses two weeks, he will be at the 65-game minimum for awards if he plays the rest of the season from there. He’s now yet another candidate to miss end-of-season awards this year.
