The Greens Have Crossed the Line And Scotland Must Wake Up
There comes a moment in politics where you stop giving people the benefit of the doubt and you start asking what on earth they are thinking.
We’ve reached that moment with the Scottish Greens because this is no longer about fringe ideas whispered in university lecture halls, it is no longer about “debate” or “exploring alternatives,” it is now front and centre, openly stated and backed by candidates who could soon sit in our Parliament.
A Green candidate has backed the abolition of prisons in Scotland, not reform, not improvement, not accountability but abolition.
Let that sink in, no prisons, no secure containment for violent offenders, no system capable of protecting the public when the worst happens and don’t be fooled by the spin that followed, even when the party leadership tried to soften the message, the candidate doubled down making it clear that abolition isn’t a misunderstanding it’s the end goal.
This isn’t compassion, it isn’t justice reform,
It is political madness and reckless ideology.
First, we were told that putting biological males including serious offenders into women’s prisons was “progress," now we’re being told the solution is no prisons at all. So what comes next? Rapists in your community, violent offenders “managed” instead of removed, victims expected to just live alongside the people who destroyed their lives.
This isn’t justice, it’s abandonment, and it is women and children who will pay the price.
The independence movement has allowed itself to be dragged into alignment with a party pushing ideas that most ordinary Scots would reject outright, the Scottish Greens are not the voice of independence, they are a liability to it.
Even their own leadership has admitted independence isn’t a “red line” in negotiations, think about that, a party willing to compromise on independence but unwavering on dismantling prisons and making life easier for child abusers and rapists, that tells you everything.
Independence was never meant to be about chaos, it was about building a better, safer, fairer Scotland, a Scotland where:
• Women are protected
• Children are safe
• Communities are secure
• Justice actually means justice not a social experiment where ideology comes before reality.
Scotland doesn’t need more activists playing politics, it needs competent, grounded, real people, people who understand the consequences of policy, not just the slogans.
That’s why the list vote matters because it’s the only place you can send a message loud enough to cut through the noise, a vote for the Independence for Scotland Party (ISP) is not just a vote for independence.
It’s a vote for:
• Protection of women and children
• A minimum income guarantee to end poverty
• Direct democracy power in the hands of the people, not party machines
• And a Scotland that actually works
This election is a fork in the road, down a dark path, ideological chaos, reckless policies and a Parliament disconnected from reality or
down the other path, a serious, credible movement to take back control and build a country that protects its people.
The Greens have shown us exactly who they are, the question now is, will Scotland wake up or will we sleepwalk into it?
