Today it's my turn. I lost my job (company closed) Today it's the first day of a new chapter I have given myself 1 year to try to make this apps thing something real. I have to reach at least 3K MRR by the end of 2026, otherwise I will need to find a job. Wish me luck 😬

Hard to believe, but Apple quietly updated App Store Connect analytics > new design > sidebar navigation on the left > overview is now a real dashboard > more subscription charts

If Apple simply put the internals of the MacBook Neo in their 2015 12" MacBook, I'd have been quite happy 👌

$599 MacBook? Apple is playing a very different game now. Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo.

@ivesparrowai Don't use a phone number, just use an email. You will have the same result. I've already made 4 accounts with only emails. Only important thing is a good VPN.

I officially declare this was my last attempt with TikTok organic. > I bought an iPhone (the third one) > I installed a VPN > I created a US Apple ID > I downloaded TikTok. > I bought a US phone number. > I started registering on TikTok. BUT. I. CAN’T. GET. PAST. THE. FIRST. SCREEN. I've already spent so many hours of my life on this nonsense And I feel incredibly stupid In the age of total automation, I can't even register a TikTok account How do you even do this? Where do you get so much patience and time?

I'm trying the new AI bid for ASA It looks interesting. The problem is that the more the CPA is high, the more your daily budget needs to be high. I'm not able to use a $3 CPA because it needs more than $100 per day, which I absolutely can't afford in this moment

🗓️ February summary MRR: 350 € Proceeds: 696 € Both MRR and proceeds went down. It looks like I'm a little bit stuck. But it’s also true I did nothing to improve this metric, except burning money on learning ASA. March will be different, I know, I have great plans
Giacomo Pignoni@Pigna__

January summary MRR: 377 € Proceeds: 1426 € Proceeds still boosted by Jumi ("seasonal" app), it generated some money also in the first days of January. The real proceeds are 929 €, that is still not bad since it's a 31% increase compared to December. This month I've also spent some money on ASA, but I actually spent nothing because I used the bonus money from Apple.

@durreadan01 I hope they will not add anything new so they will focus on improving what is existing. They already have everything, they just need to make it more stable.

So apparently iOS 27 is coming with “Liquid Glass enhancements”. Here’s hoping Apple finally delivers what they showed at WWDC last year.

One less app in the portfolio. It simply lost the competition for my time and resources.

I've also noticed that, maybe it happens because after a while they don’t have anything new to share. Another trend I've noticed is that most of the indie devs in the last year stopped speaking about what they are building and started speaking about how good AI is, probably because there is always something new to say about it.

After being on X for so many years in the mobile indie space I noticed a pattern. Quite often a new indie shows up that starts to have traction. They start to be open about it, post insights, inspire people, share their wins. And then, once they cross some threshold of revenue they disappear. Might be that the motivation is not there anymore, since they make money. Might be that they had to many copy-cats. Might be that they're too focus on growing their apps portfolio. Sometimes they do some tools for the mobile devs but then they realise that they won't pay and it's futile. Anyways I did exactly this, that's why I spot the same pattern in others.

@sdkysfzaii @seraleev I've been using it for 8 years, for my projects, but also for, not mine, really big apps. Never saw bills like that. If you use it right and you understand how it works, there is nothing to worry about. Also, Remote Config is free and can be used with the free tier.

@seraleev the only reason I don't like to use firebase is the $100k bills that people get. check reddit posts.

Can confirm everything said about Firebase On top of that, Remote Config is incredibly useful – you can control feature availability, tweak paywall discount logic, and run experiments without shipping a new build.

I spend in Firebase 20 euros monthly for a $30k/mo app and it handles: -Firestore Database -Firebase Storage -Authentication -Analytics -Push Notifications -Crashlytics And I haven’t even gone very deep into optimizations. I don't know why you guys waste time overengineering.

It's a strategy, they make a lot of apps in the same niche, so it looks like there is competition, but there is actually not. Because it's always them. In this way, it doesn't matter if the user downloads first, second, or third position, because it’s always them. I don't think it's something Apple likes, but it's also hard to find them, since they use multiple companies.

I discovered something really weird yesterday. I was researching a niche and there are about 3 apps making $100k and over. So I did a bit if digging on how they are marketing. I found several TikTok accounts that were clearly just marketing accounts promoting 3 of those apps. ALL THREE OF THEM. It seems they are owned by the same person/company but under different AppStore accounts.

You finally ask 10 users for feedback. 🗣️ 5 users say: "It's too simple. Add more features." 5 users say: "It's too complex. Make it simpler." Who do you listen to?
