@FlorkOfCows I get it. It's interesting seeing perspectives on grading as someone in the mtg & yugioh communities. In magic people are more willing to grade expensive cards, where in yugioh a lot of playable cards can be up to $100 USD,and people will still play with premium versions of them!

HUGE ASS CARD ESSAY INC: I definitely don't believe that card grading is a scam, its been a part of the hobby since the 90s which isnt much different than comic book grading, game grading or other types of authentication that have been around hand in hand with collectibles. It boils down to KNOWING what you own and having it in the condition you paid money for it in. You most certainly can buy raw cards and know for sure they are real and since you open them you know their condition. If youre buying from someone else though are you for sure getting a mint condition card youre paying a premium on? Do you know for sure its even the card until you get it in mail or at home to double check it? Thats kind of the niche authentication/grading plays. Its a means of protecting the money you spend on particular collectibles in addition to preserving the card for long term display/storage. The idea of grading has been really soured by bad business practices, scalpers and extremely high premiums on cards pricing a lot of people out. PSA has burned me so many times im never using them again, and have only had good experiences with tag so far. Its fucking rad to get a full report back on the card I sent in to know why it got the grade it did. Its cool!! No I dont at all think a lot of cards should be as expensive as they are, but thats not a problem with grading thats the broader issue with limited product avaibility and horrible people buying all the stock. If grading is not your thing, dude thats so cool. Grading is a premium option for the hobby not everyones going to be into it or want it. Dude its totally cool to have a binder with your favorite cards in it instead of grading, im working on a rayquaza binder right now! For me personally I grade to keep cards I really like safe and to display them, because I think it looks nice : ) I attached a pictured of one of the stupidest cards I ever graded, its essentially worthless but I really like it so I display it graded anyway!! Thats why I enjoy card collecting as a hobby, theres so many ways to enjoy it and display what you like, or play : )

@fedginator I guess, but other than the Ultimate Slayer targets there's probably random useful stuff that could replace them. That or just leave the slots blank. It's fine to have a smaller extra then add a note saying to fill the space with whatever.

@MBTYuGiOh Evil eye. Weakest archetype in its buid a deck booster set some how out classed by witchcrafter and infinitracks. When evil eye got support it wasn't worth trying.

@TrifGaming The biggest issue is the consistency of sleeves between packs. Companies like @DragonShield_ sell minis in packs of 60, so you always have to buy 2, but their production issues the past few years has made finding sleeves other than black that match between 2 packs impossible.

60 card decks are the future of yugioh. Yugioh has evolved to the point there are 30+ broken non engine and 30+ broken combo cards every format. The argument of “you’ll brick in 60” is ridiculously stupid you play 2x the starters and all different variety it’s not 3 Mitsu pushes it’s 3 different pushes. The argument of “you won’t see Fuwalos” I didn’t even play Fuwalos in my YCS winning deck. There are 30 broken non engine in yugioh More starters, more consistency, more different engines, more pushes, more non engine, more plays, unbeatable boards, breaks unbeatable boards, LESS bricks. Decks could be 40,47, 52, 60 who cares. Number is irrelevant. Only number that matters is your % of seeing high amounts of pushes & a lot of non engine while seeing as little bricks as possible and putting up unbeatable boards consistently. This is why 60 is the future. The only thing stopping high level yugioh players from playing 60 is the one reason im a 3 time champ. Balls
