Postal Vote Investigation

theguardian.com/politics/2019/… 9m mainly young, low-income, renters and ethnic minorities. The election was called for Dec12 hampering efforts to register these voters as the normal annual canvass (house enquiry forms) on Dec 1st was disrupted. Is this why Labours vote dropped 3m?

@AdamDar890 @ElectoralCommUK the best person to ask is your local electoral officer. Its too late now , but it might help prevent this from happening in the future, we are logging lots and lots of cases

@IBellantuono Hi Illaria, we are going through the thousands of similar cases one by one. Can you remember when you registered, which nationality you put down. Many dual nationals put Italian etc, and so the council marked them as category G (non uk).

@GraemeLee1 officer and ask what happened to your registration. Send them a copy of the email. This has happened to too many people, and if we don't get it fixed it will continue to happen

@GraemeLee1 Hi Graeme sorry to hear that. Sometimes when you register online, you get a confirmation email from the govt site aknowledging. This is then passed to the council. If the council didn't register your sister they should have said why. It is worth emailing your local electoral 1/2

@mollywestlakexx @EastleighBC Hi Molly we are investigating thousands of similar cases up and down the country. It might be a good idea to ask eastleigh if someone fraudulently used your postal vote. They will also be able to give you a copy of the application form, so you prove it was not you

@PostalVoteProbe I heard on the afternoon of election day that both he and IDS were polling behind and were in danger of losing their seats. I've not looked at the figures but I take it neither were even close in the end.

Uxbridge, voter turned up to vote, only to be told someone had registered her in Northampton, (as no connection with Northampton).. Is this how Boris Johnson won his seat?

It does not require a Tory peer to be involved in that. She shd go to the Police immediately and say she is a poss victim of fraud

@JaseTheAce28 @JonBielstein yes, sorry about that. We are just trying to make sure it doesn't keep happening. Already we have logged thousands of similar cases to you. only way to stop it is to identify the mistakes the councils made, so it doesn't happen again

#UKElection Been turned away from polling station due to no ballot card! Apparently not registered. Asked to provide a registration number which I have. Also have email proof I am registered but denied vote! People of Twitter HELP?!

Checked with Madeleine. She registered before the deadline. I've seen a screenshot of her polling card. She was turned away because @lb_southwark crossed her name off electoral roll IN THE POLLING STATION THIS MORNING @MarkerJParker please be all over this

To deregister you the council have to have to verifiable sources of info saying yo're no longer at the address They clearly don't Please email your local electoral office and ask them what sources they used to de register you
