The nemotron 3 release might become my favorite release of the year. if super (~120B) and ultra (~480B) keep their promise, it will be the first time in history that we have a model at the frontier with this level of openness what is interesting here is that they are not just looking at being frontier on "benchmark", they want to have the most USEFUL model, you see it at how they design the model, MTP for speculative decoding, LatentMoE for efficient training/inference, Hybrid model for long context (up to 1M), quantization (both in training with NVFP4 and for inference) ect..

Nemotron 3 Super (~4X bigger than Nano) and Ultra (~16X bigger than Nano) are pretrained using NVFP4, a new "Latent Mixture of Experts" architecture that allows us to use 4X more experts for the same inference cost, and Multi-Token Prediction.

@zack_overflow This conversation was tapped out when these products first released in their current iteration. The only thing that has changed are more people trying to wring blood from a stone. Research models or diffusion can do some interesting things, but focus should really be on users

@IanColdwater in order to get a pack of white cotton tshirts at walmart, i had to ask an employee to get them from the locked cabinet, then they walked me to check out, and I wasn't even allowed to carry the bag until I go to the checkout counter. couldn't grab anything else in the store 💢

@engineering_bae Early career, I had more managers that I was disappointed by which I'd attribute to the need for a job > particulars of role. Other manager(s) I've hated were installed while I was in role/had no say in it. Managers I've loved came later in my career and are a key factor in role.
