Semester over! It has been a fun one visiting @IowaLawSchool. It also marks the end of my time at @NIU_Law - I'll be joining the @mulaw faculty in the fall. Excited for the new opportunity but already missing my students and colleagues at NIU who have made it a wonderful 7 years!

As this take makes somewhat clear, partisan politics at the state level mean that local governments do not have the ability - either in terms of power, resources, or both - to do take the climate actions they may wish to nytimes.com/2022/07/01/cli…

In the wake of WV v. EPA, seeing lots about local governments filling in the climate policy gap. They've been doing so for a long time, but local climate action depends on cities having the authority and $$ - and the authority to raise $$! - to act. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…

@profallentweets @ProfZboreak The reality is that we have always had non-TT faculty participate this year, and we will again this year as well. In the interest of transparency, what we do prioritize to some degree is geography, radiating out from the Chicagoland area.

Chicagoland Junior Scholars is happening again, folks! Preference given to those teaching fewer than 10 years in a TT position, including those who expect to start Fall 2022. "Articles may be presented at any stage of development." Let me know if you need the email!
