@UboPod For enterprise licenses, we charge a one time fee which gives royalty-free commercial use, and this also includes layout files. Hobbysit license only includes schematic and firmware files, no commercial rights.

@Quickboardsio do you charge a per-unit fee for commercial use/license or is it a flat one-time license fee? For analog, mixed signal or high speed design, the layout is also quite important. do you also provide layouts?

@UboPod Funnily enough, that's how we started a year ago. But there wasn't sufficient revenue to scale let alone pay our founder, and 99% of our customers only wanted the schematics-so we had to pivot.

@Quickboardsio make pre-fabricated modules and sell the modules. makes customers more confident that your designs are also sound.

@Quickboardsio 300 bucks for IC + decoupling capacitors placed, pull resistors as some bonus? Dunno dude.

@FrancoisGervai2 All the schematics have already been layed out, manufactured and tested, you can be certain that the starting schematic is functional with the components in its BOM, but can certainly modify it to better suit your needs/application.

@Quickboardsio I like it but I’m not sure how well it can work, say for example I take a buck converter block and it specifies 10uF output caps. But there is so much variability between capacitors and in this case it will have a major impact on the result. How would this be handled?

Tip of the day: Implement a HAL Don't hardcode register-level commands into your application logic. Use a Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL) to swap MCUs without rewriting everything.

Tip of the day: Use a Watchdog timer. Code eventually hangs due to EMI or edge-case bugs. Use a Watchdog Timer as your "dead man’s switch" to force a system reset when things go sideways.

@Aryannbrb At the moment, just Altium. and anyone can submit designs, but we'll only put it up if it follows a particular standard and meets certain requirements (active status, sufficient global stock, etc)

Tip of the day: Design for debugging. Never assume your first rev will work perfectly. Include test points, UART headers, and heartbeat LEDs to turn a 10-hour headache into a 20-minute fix.
