Last night our Community Officers were at The Caledonia Designer Outlet Village at #Gretna. Our Festive Safety campaign aims to deter & detect retail crime & provide reassurance to retailers. Our officers were speaking to shop staff & customers whilst on their patrols. 🎅🏻🌲

There was some bad luck for one shoplifter in #Dumfries yesterday as he was arrested minutes after leaving a shop. Over £250 of stolen property was recovered. Shoplifting is #notavictimlesscrime & we work with retailers to deter & detect those involved.

31year old man arrested by #Dumfries Community Officers today following a theft from a #radiolink store. Stolen property also recovered. Male wanted for similar thefts in #Stirling & #Glenrothes. Tackling #Retailcrime is a priority for us. #notavictimlesscrime #CommunityPolicing

@the_brc It's encouraging to see greater focus being placed on retail crime, and the early signs are promising. However, we agree that to effectively combat shop theft, taskforces and funding must not only be sustained but also strengthened to ensure lasting impact.
