I was informed today that my fertilizer supplier/grain buyer changed their credit policy. Grain growers can no longer charge their fertilizer purchases, then pay their bill with grain. They must finance their fertilizer purchase using a 3rd party. @realagriculture @shaunhaney

On the positive side the drought will save us on propane costs. And we should be done before Christmas 🤞

@AgPhDMedia Would you spray fungicide on beans in dry weather conditions? No history of mold, following corn, not thick foliage. Just wondering if there would be plant health advantages over and above white mold control

#AgPhDRadioUpdate | What is R3 In Soybeans Many people say R3 is the best timing for spraying a fungicide on soybeans, but when exactly is R3?  The first 3 soybean reproductive stages are R1, first flower, then R2 full flower, followed by R3, which is first pod.  Once you see a pod on your soybean plant on one of the top four nodes that is at least 3/16th of an inch long, you are officially at the R3 stage.  If you are trying to get by with just one application of fungicide on your soybeans, going after general diseases and hoping to improve plant health, we recommend spraying at late R2 or early R3.  By the way, if you’re thinking about scouting for diseases before you spray a fungicide, don’t.  By the time you see the disease it’s way too late.  Instead, we suggest spraying if the weather has been damp or humid, if yield potential looks good, and if you’ve had a history of disease or disease is likely to pop up in your fields.
