To those who say Trump isn’t doing enough, isn’t serious, etc: this is radical. He is effectively circumventing Congress. There are plenty of reasons for stodgy institutionalists to dislike Trump, but if you want radical change he’s your guy. Truly wild, history-making stuff.

Interesting asymmetry. Conservatives generally believe the US should support its allies and that allies should support the US in return. Liberals, by contrast, believe the US should support its allies, but allies shouldn't help the US:

Stats on the homeless population are awful. 1-in-2 has a disability and/or a traumatic brain injury. 1-in-5 has psychosis. 1-in-10 is schizophrenic. 1-in-4 is mentally retarded. These sorts of facts explain a lot!

The return of asylums can't come soon enough. Violent, insane, and at-risk homeless people should not be loitering, littering, and overdosing on the streets of America's cities.

@Cernovich @elonmusk .. it means the rot is not just in the elite class; it has percolated down to the masses. It's difficult to even imagine what a realistic solution could be.

@Cernovich @elonmusk .. that functional institutions are rooted in deeply shared culture. Diversity and institutional stability cannot coexist because institutional stability is entirely dependent on deeply shared values. Seeing both jury nullification and judicial nullification is scary because..

Jury nullification at the street level - terrorists attack conservatives with impunity. Judicial nullification at the highest level - judges rig cases against @elonmusk. My personality is not towards doomersim, but when citizens can't trust the courts, bad things happen.

.@nicksortor tells @JackPosobiec about a Portland jury finding one of his Antifa-affiliated attacker's NOT GUILTY on all charges: "It was somebody that was literally attacking me on the street…It's crazy. I don't know if there's a way to save cities like this."

Not only can I speak with the implant, I can also use it for dictation. I "typed" this, but without a keyboard - or any other text entry device - except the implant. I am also The Man Who Types With His Mind.

GLP-1 drugs are the ultimate validation of the techno-solutionist approach to society's most challenging problems. The obesity crisis seemed liked it would just get worse and worse forever. Scolding from public health officials didn't work. Proposals to completely overhaul our food systems were dead on arrival. Instead, we invented a weekly shot (based on Gila monster venom!) that fixes obesity directly. And now, thanks to the economic incentives in our biomedical industry, we have follow-on drugs that will be cheaper, even more effective, and easier to administer (by taking a pill instead of a shot). Policymakers should be focused on figuring out how we can get more breakthrough drugs like GLP-1s (and faster). They also should think hard about which slopulist ideas might inadvertently kill the goose that lays the golden eggs.

@BirdieLamark @xenocosmography Having said all this, his model of local information and spontaneous order arising from countless individual interactions is foundational to my understanding of the world; so I'm deeply indebted to Hayek while disagreeing strongly on his ideological leanings.

@BirdieLamark @xenocosmography As far as Hayek is concerned, liberalism could have just as easily applied to Europeans 2000 years ago. Or to the tribes of the Amazon. To him, it was a matter of discovery rather than creation.

@Neolsanolgelme @TrueSlazac @inkstainedlover @MarxoidNess Most religious leaders tend to be from the oppressed class and so they usually advocate a peaceful message. Mohammed was the oppressor during the latter part of his life and he wasn't shy about saying who deserved oppression. 2/2

@Neolsanolgelme @TrueSlazac @inkstainedlover @MarxoidNess That's just not true. The Quran is filled with antisemitism. So are the hadiths. The thing about Islam that is rather unique is that Mohamed was an actually successful warlord in his time. And it happened to be that his main enemies were Jews (and meccan polytheists). 1/2
