Leader Jeffries claims he wants a national prohibition on mid-decade redistricting. Yet he has not supported my legislation to do just that. I'm calling on the Minority Leader to stand by his words with actions that will stop this plague on our democracy.

I'm glad Virginia will continue to have fair district lines, just as I've opposed mid-decade gerrymandering in other states. No one is 'winning' the redistricting war. Our democracy is losing. We need independent redistricting and fair representation in every state.

The CCP-linked fugitive who ran the secret Reedley bio lab has been convicted and faces 20 years in prison. The lab contained malaria, HIV, E. coli, and possibly Ebola. A similar lab was just found in Vegas. Congress needs to pass our bill to uncover any other CCP-backed labs.

The CA Legislature voted down Kayleigh's law, which lets survivors of sexual assault get a permanent restraining order against their abuser. This is especially alarming since the CA Parole Board recently released several serial child molesters who were serving life sentences.

San Francisco middle schools outlawed algebra for a decade in the name of "equity." The result was just the opposite: wider achievement gaps and worse overall student learning. Now, incoming students at even selective CA colleges can't do basic math and need remedial courses.

The cost of the California high-speed rail project is now estimated at $231 billion. Our country has never seen a fiscal disaster of this magnitude.

A new report paints an absolutely damning picture of our state’s decline during Newsom’s governorship: -Highest unemployment rate in the nation at 5.5%, with over 1 million unemployed workers -181,700 private sector jobs lost in 2025 and 432,900 private jobs lost the last three years, with almost all new job growth coming from government -1.9 unemployed workers per job opening, the worst ratio in the country, with layoffs and separations up by 57% in 2025 -Net business establishments in 2025 down almost 90 percent since before Newsom took office, with almost all new firms being sole proprietorships with no employees -highest cost of living of any state, with 6 of the 10 most expensive metropolitan areas in the country -Electricity rates nearly double the rest of the country for homes and almost triple for industry, along with highest in the nation gas prices -Highest poverty rate in the nation at 16.4% -1.9 million residents lost to other states the last seven years, including 409,000 workers lost in job-to-job migration over five years -Budget growth of 68.2% since 2019, with a structural deficit that is now $20–35 billion annually -Nearly a 50 percent drop in the number of high earners filing tax returns over $10 million the last five years

I'm grateful for the heroic actions of law enforcement in stopping another act of political violence. We need a full assessment of any vulnerabilities at last night's event. And we should all dial down the rhetoric and aim for greater civility and unity in our political culture.
