I was proud to join Landstar for a Rutherford Ride Along to learn more about the people and processes that keep our supply chains moving across Northeast Florida and nationwide. These men and women help drive our economy and get goods where they need to go, safely and efficiently. I was honored to walk a day in their shoes and see firsthand the professionalism and commitment these drivers, like Michael Smith, bring to their jobs. Thank you for driving our economy forward!

Great to meet with members of the Episcopal Children’s Service to talk about the experiences, challenges, and opportunities that child care providers, families, and children are facing today. It is important we work together to promote the well-being and education of children in our area and across Florida. That’s why I voted for this year’s Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies (LHHS) Appropriations Act to provide important funding for educational programs like Head Start and the Child Care and Development Block Grant programs to help provide child care for families and prepare America’s most vulnerable young children to succeed in school and in life.

Operation EPIC FURY has been perfectly executed by the America’s brave men and women in uniform. May God continue to bless them and keep them from all harm. To the Iranian people, this is your hour of liberation and freedom. Choose wisely the path forward for your country. God bless and keep the people of Iran.

The Iranian regime has set the table for Operation Epic Fury through their forty-seven years of state sponsored terrorism and murder of American citizens. The Iranian regime has continued their pursuit of “death to America” through their continued development of nuclear weapons capable of striking America. Tens of thousands of Iranian people have been violently murdered by the Iranian regime for seeking freedom and basic human rights. It’s clear: this evil regime seeks to kill and must be obliterated. The President, and many before him, have given Iran every opportunity to make a deal for peace to end this long conflict, but the Iranian regime has time and time again refused. Now, the hour of freedom is at hand. For the freedom of the Iranian people, and the safety and security of the entire world, I stand behind President Trump, Prime Minister Netanyahu, and our U.S. military servicemen and women. Our world is safer with President Trump as Commander in Chief. Today, and every day, I pray for our troops and the Iranian freedom fighters.

I was honored to visit the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic in Jacksonville. The Cohen Veterans Network is committed to helping veterans overcome the challenges they face when transitioning from active military service back to civilian life and beyond. Their highly skilled professionals provide our veterans with the care they deserve, including specialized therapy for depression, anxiety, posttraumatic stress disorder, adjustment issues, anger, grief, and loss. Thank you to the Cohen Veterans Network for all of the hard work and care they provide for veterans in our community here in Jacksonville and beyond.

Our public safety telecommunicators are the very first voice someone hears when calling 911 for help, often on the worst day of their life. That’s why I was proud to join the National Emergency Number Association (NENA) in Washington, D.C. to recognize Florida’s State Captain Stephen Kennedy for his great work and contributions to public safety telecommunicators across Florida. As a former sheriff and lifelong law enforcement officer, I know just how important the role public safety telecommunicators play in protecting and serving our communities.

Over the last year of his presidency, President Trump has done more to renew the American Dream than any other president by bolstering our economy, stopping the flow of illegal immigrants and drugs over our borders, restoring American strength on the global stage, brokering peace around the world, bringing manufacturing home, and putting America First. The Trump administration has removed more than 2.6 million illegal aliens from the United States through deportations and voluntary self-departures. They have arrested and deported over 400,000 illegal aliens charged with, or convicted of, crimes, including the worst of the worst criminals, killers, rapists, gang members, and repeat offenders. The Trump administration has also paused visa processing for 75 high-risk countries pending enhanced security vetting to help keep our communities safe. President Trump, along with Congressional Republicans, delivered the largest middle-class tax relief package in modern U.S. history, saving 5.9 million jobs, by signing the Working Families Tax Cut into law and saved our country an estimated $215 billion — equivalent to $1,335 per U.S. taxpayer — through the Trump Administration’s government efficiency efforts. Promises made, promises kept. The Trump administration ended the Israel–Hamas war by imposing a ceasefire framework, securing the release of hostages, and enacting a landmark Gaza Peace Plan to unleash total security and prosperity for all in the region. President Trump also brokered peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, Israel and Iran, India and Pakistan, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, Cambodia and Thailand, Kosovo and Serbia, and Egypt and Ethiopia. He truly is the President of Peace. President Trump also secured the capture of long-wanted narco-terrorist Nicolás Maduro, paving the way for his prosecution in the U.S., and achieved a ceasefire with Houthi terrorists in Yemen, restoring freedom of navigation in the Red Sea for U.S.-flagged ships. Finally, as Commander in Chief, President Trump made the largest investment in our military in decades, modernizing our forces with cutting-edge technology, rebuilding depleted stockpiles, and ensuring our troops are the best equipped in history as threats from our adversaries around the world continue to grow. If that’s what the Trump administration can accomplish in one year, imagine what can be done in three more. I can’t wait to continue to work with President Trump to deliver even more wins for the American people. God bless President Trump and our country.

It was great to speak with members of the Major County Sheriffs of America in Washington, D.C. As a former sheriff, I know the challenges that our law enforcement officers face every day as they put on their badges to protect and serve our communities. As a member of the @HouseAppropsGOP, I continue to strongly support efforts to help increase resources and staffing across our law enforcement agencies.

By not passing the Fiscal Year 2026 Homeland Security funding bill, Senate Democratic leadership are using the American public and their safety as leverage in their fight against immigration and customs enforcement. They are holding funding for FEMA, TSA, CISA, the Coast Guard, and Secret Service hostage. This is not just about ICE funding. This puts our national security at risk. ICE and Customs and Border Protection are funded. Immigration and removal operations will continue. Border wall construction will continue. A shutdown only hurts Americans and critical national security efforts. Watch my full exchange 👇

I was honored to join the Mayport Lighthouse Association in celebrating the 167th anniversary of the St. Johns River Lighthouse this past weekend. The lighthouse serves as an important and historic landmark in our area. Here’s to many more!
