Boomers Were the last generation to enjoy the American social contract.
They lived in a historically exceptional opportunity period. An actual Golden Age.
Go to school, get a job off a handshake, rack up pension in a stable career ladder, buy a house for five figures, accumulate wealth without having to be extraordinary.
This creates a worldview that hard work pays off, institutions should be trusted, and upward mobility is normal.
They are beneficiaries of a system that no longer exists. One that they willingly degraded over decades. Now they project their sheltered worldview onto newer generations from their nest eggs. Totally out of touch and now being one-shotted by internet-induced psychosis. You do not see this with the silent generation or even gen X.
Boomers are uniquely intolerable.

It's been 7 months since we had our baby and we're still receiving unexplained hospital bills in the mail. Hardly ever an adequate description of services. Just a QR code to pay online. It feels intentionally confusing and difficult to get answers. We want price transparency.
