This is devastating for the workers and the community of Grangemouth. We should have seen our Governments doing more. It is deeply disappointing that Labour have not stepped in to protect workers or to future proof jobs in the same way that they have with steelworks down south.

When the @scottishgreens were in government I tripled the funding for @STUC_Schools. Great to speak to Terry at #STUC25 & see so many reps volunteering to help deliver the programme locally. Young people deserve to learn about their rights in the workplace before they get there

Successive Governments should have taken action to provide a transition that put workers first. Grangemouth is now paying the price of that inaction. We need to see plans come forward to support workers. I'll be back in my community later today to speak to those affected.

We're glad MSPs backed the principle of universalism this afternoon by voting to maintain the no peak rail fares trial and plans for free school meals But now it's on the trade union movement and the wider left to maintain these policies in reality, not just in principle

The principle of universalism is under attack by governments of the supposed centre left at Westminster and Holyrood From Labour cutting the winter fuel payment to the SNP scrapping plans for all primary pupils to receive free school meals, the trend is clear
