As fewer people are booked into Travis County jail, more people are killed. The jail is not "over crowded." It currently has room for about 400 more criminals.

All the legal geniuses who claim Trump attacking Iran’s energy infrastructure would be a “war crime” are eerily quiet about Ukraine’s successful attacks on Russia’s energy infrastructure.

Primorsk, Russia’s largest western oil exporting hub, turns out won’t be benefiting much from Donald Trump’s lifting of sanctions on Russian oil, on the grounds that it was blown to bits this morning by Ukraine.

I don’t know that it’s “family friendly” movies that make people go to theaters. I think it’s movies that argue you need to see them on the big screen. Like a lot of people, I don’t need to go to theaters to see movies. I have a big TV and I can pause things and the snacks are free. I make super rare exceptions to see movies at the theater, and I only went to this one because I liked the book (though not as much as I liked The Martian, which I use in my nature studies classes). Most “family friendly” movies we watch at home. Most movies I like (horror, etc) aren’t that different on the big screen. BUT PHM was very good and there were several trailers for movies that also looked like I should see them in the theater…so maybe they’re catching on that if you want to make people go to the theater, you need to make movies that should be seen in the theater.

Not surprised Project Hail Mary has made a lot of money. It's remembered the golden goose Hollywood forgot: Good Family-Friendly content. Not a kids movie. Not an r-rated comedy aimed at wine aunts. A well-made all-ages good time. Helps Ryan Gosling is popular of course.
