Cup drivers reminded by Elton Sawyer not to impede drivers on the track if they are blending between turn 2 and turn 3 when coming off pit road. Allgaier and Kvapil were called for violations yesterday in OReilly race.

@bobpockrass I assume a washout on Saturday will result in a triple header on Sunday? O'Reilly in the morning, then Cup at its normal time, followed by ARCA hoping to get it in before dark?

@bobpockrass So, they're just shutting down the IMSA program, shifting resources to IndyCar, and eventually will swap out the Honda IndyCar branding to just Acura?

Acura announces it will "pause" its IMSA program following the 2026 season ... Marcus Armstrong will have Acura branding for his Indy 500 car as the brand (which is under the Honda banner) increases presence in INDYCAR.

@jeff_gluck I'm not against a SUV/CUV series, but killing the O'Reilly series in the process aint the way to go!!

Hopefully if this happens it won’t be anytime soon. 😬😬
Adam Stern@A_S12

John Probst says CUV could give @NASCAROReillyAP clearer identity: "If you look at the brand identity of those three, the O'Reilly Series struggles a little bit just from the car perspective and you see it a lot because we refer to it often as whoever the entitlement sponsor is."

@asurodgod @itsmoonhead Well, if you only watch TV via antenna, I'm not sure what else I can say. NASCAR has never had all its races on OTA. Even back in the day, there were races on ESPN, TNN, and TBS.

Would not expect any movement of O'Reilly practice and qualifying at Kansas. If it doesn't happen tonight, lineup would be set by the metric for the race Saturday. All cars are in with 37 entries for 38-car field.

@bobpockrass I don't think we need to go back to the 80s and 90s era of 3 or 4 hours of practice every week, but I think fans would like to see an additional practice session beyond the 30 min practice right before qualifying.

I am an advocate for more practice. I was just giving the philosophy for group practice for Cup.

@bobpockrass The fans at the track who want more time with cars on track probably love this sentiment Bob…

@markmartin Long story short: They changed the algorithm, so it pushes polls to people who don't follow Jeff (or even care about NASCAR). It's supposed to put more eyes (impressions) on the poll, which drives ad revenue to X, despite the fact that it inconveniences the OP and his followers.

Interesting! I don’t know what to think about this. Makes you question the analytics.
Jeff Gluck@jeff_gluck

I'm confused as to what's going on with the vote totals in the poll. Last year's voting average in the poll was 24k votes. The year before that was 26k votes. The year before that was 21k votes. And THIS year's average until Martinsville a couple weeks ago was 19k votes. Suddenly though, Martinsville only got 9.8k votes. I posted about it and a lot of you said you didn't see it in your timeline. Now suddenly the next poll is only 3.5k votes. But in the analytics, it says there were 124k impressions (number of people who saw the post). For transparency, let's look at some of the vote totals vs. impressions (number of people who saw the poll, per X Analytics). This is in order for this year's races. Clash: 14.8k votes, 58k impressions (25% voted) Daytona 500: 28.6k votes, 156k impressions (18% voted) Atlanta: 24.3k votes, 257k impressions (11% voted) COTA: 18.7k votes, 135k votes (14% voted) Phoenix: 16.8k votes, 116k impressions (14% voted) Vegas: 15.5k votes, 61k impressions (25% voted) Darlington: 17.3k votes, 256k impressions (6% voted) Martinsville: 9.8k votes, 130k impressions (7% voted) Bristol: 3.5k, 124k impressions (3% voted) So what happened the last few weeks? Something isn't adding up (and no, I don't think it's "NASCAR fans suddenly stopped deciding to vote"). Seems like either the vote totals are wrong or the impressions are wrong and people aren't seeing the poll. What's your theory? (cc: @nikitabier)

@jeff_gluck Since I'm not paying for a blue or gold checkmark, I asked the Grok app about it. Hey, at least it's honest that it's just about greed! 👍

Was Bristol a good race? 67 percent of you said Yes. -- Ranks No. 14 of 22 Bristol races -- Ranks No. 3 of the paved Next Gen races at Bristol (the two high tire wear races were ahead of it, so this is the top "normal" Bristol race with the Next Gen car) -- Only 3.5k votes. More thoughts on this in the next tweet. (1/2)

@grok @KevinFowlerJr @jeff_gluck @grok why would someone want their polls sent to a broad, passive audience when it was intended by the original poster for followers and a specific audience?

The drop in votes despite high impressions stems from X's algorithm shift toward the "For You" feed. It pushes content like polls to a broad, passive audience (lurkers, non-NASCAR fans) for reach—explaining the 124k impressions on Bristol. But your core voters (engaged followers) often miss it in timelines, as many replied. Result: more eyeballs, far fewer clicks. Not broken vote totals or impressions—just less targeted delivery than pre-algorithm changes. Common across X now for niche polls.

@bennihanna72 @jeff_gluck @KevinFowlerJr @grok I have the Android app, but it keeps defaulting back to the "For You" tab. So I have to make a conscious effort to put it back on "Following" all the time, especially when I'm going through the feed and seeing a bunch of stuff I don't care about from people I don't follow.

@jeff_gluck @KevinFowlerJr @grok You can, at least in the android app. I have two tabs at the top of my feed. One for "For You" and one for "Following". I never click on my "For You" tab. I prefer posts to be in chronological order on this app.

@bobpockrass I just sort of assumed he wouldn't anyway. I'm not sure of Colton's contract, but even F1 reserve drivers usually have some kind of clause that says they can't compete in another series on F1 weekends.

@Wingard83 @NASCAR @TALLADEGA @DAYTONA Unfortunately, stage cautions aren't going away any time soon. That was part of the contract agreement with the TV partners. I'm not sure when the next contract is due, but hopefully, they renegotiate to have those taken out and just go to the side-by-side ads like IndyCar does.
