Look up “Microplastics in your body.” This is where they originate. Research shows microplastic concentrations in the brain have increased by 50% over the last eight years. While you have been carefully recycling, driving a Prius, voting for more environmental regulations and taking up activist causes to save the planet, your petroleum based clothing has been killing both you and the environment. Demand cotton. @CottonInc
healthbot@thehealthb0t

A man filming inside Walmart searches for basic cotton socks and finds almost none. Brand after brand looks “premium,” feels cushioned, and costs more… until you flip the label. • 97% polyester. • Recycled plastic blends. • Barely any cotton left. Polyester socks are cheaper to produce than cotton socks. Because of this, manufacturers swapped materials, raised prices, and wrapped it in nicer packaging - hoping nobody would check. You’re not buying better socks. You’re paying more to wear plastic on your skin.

@RyanHyattMedia I was at this concert so I at least heard several of them. I wouldn’t swear I was paying the most attention. It was a rainy, muddy mess in Buddy Holly Park

Okay, hear me out: it is a Texas truism that the sketchier the circumstances in which you buy them, the better the tamales. The best tamales you will ever eat will be made by somebody's tía and bought from the trunk of an old car in a store parking lot. Further, the junkier the car, the better the tamale. The seediness of the store matters, too, with tamales purchased in a Home Depot parking lot not nearly as tasty as those bought from a rundown mom-and-pop convenience store in Seguin. Do I hear a "preach on, brother Traces!" from the congregation? Photo by Jazz Guy.

After driving across a good chunk of West Texas over the past few days, I am blown away by how good most crops look, considering the time of year it is! Even dryland crops look pretty good! The rain has been a blessing this year.
