@Scratchbam13 I'm not saying people have to draw Sonic perfectly to be considered good or anything, but OP's complete disregard as to why these factors are important speaks to me with a very ignorant and close-minded mindset on art and character design.

People need to realize that not following a certain design principle doesn’t automatically make a design bad. It just means the design operates under a different principle.

@chocosun4evr @PinnacleAraneae I think there’s a difference between “It’s way easier to draw this character if you use a circle as a base” and “you have to design your character so everything conforms to a circle” and people conflate the two a lot

There’s been countless reasons given by several people as to why the muzzle curve and circle theory are effective and serve to strengthen the character design
Yet when people try to argue against them the best argument they can offer is “well it looks cool so who cares”
