@K93945824K @sadAssleticsfan Yeah I read Clarke had a setback unfortunately. What’s tough is next year I expect DeVries to be up. I put him at SS, Wilson at 2nd, Muncy at 3rd & Gelof will be the Chad Pinder utility guy, playing 2nd, 3rd, RF, LF. But Muncy is gonna have work for it or Gelof might take 3rd.

@K93945824K @sadAssleticsfan Due to injury, or losing his job? It’s gonna be tough to justify him over Bolte. I think you put Muncy at 3rd and platoon Gelof at 2nd & RF w McNeil & Butler & Cortes. You keep Hernaiz as backup SS when Wilson comes back & where is there room for Clarke?

@SeanBBOHan @MLB I’d call it a cannon. Cannons are quick trigger, I wouldn’t call it a rocket. That’s how I’ll differentiate the two.

In all seriousness I think it is awesome that Jump is getting the call. Haven’t had this much hype around a pitching prospect in a long time. Frankly I can’t even remember the last one. Drop some elite ball knowledge on who that A’s pitcher might have been👇

@iipacket @MLB Little guy, RH RF who hits left, good bat control, good or great speed. No wonder y Ichiro or anyone would like him. Good footwork & accurate w arm. Just saying people going nuts on his “cannon”. It didn’t look like a cannon to me, it’s serviceable though. Bad choice by 3B coach!

@StraightAs123 Yeah I hear that. It’s best to find what Perkins is best at. Just our bullpen needs help too. I just think u move him to SP and open up hole at RP that effects you 5-7 days a week. I think we have 2 more studs coming so we need a stop gap. Bauer costs nothing & could really help!

@SeanBBOHan I’d rather give a young guy a chance to prove himself than sign those guys. If there were better options, I’d agree with you that guys need to earn it, but I don’t see a better option than giving a guy with upside get a chance. And Perkins has not been bad in longer outings

Not much of a choice for the A’s here. He was their best starter in AAA, and there’s a huge need.
Hoping the rotation moving forward is Sevy, Springs, Ginn, Perkins, Jump.
That provides the upside this team needs to actually take a big step forward

The Athletics are calling up Gage Jump, one of the best left-handed pitching prospects in baseball, sources tell ESPN. Jump, 23, runs his fastball up to 97 and has struck out 56 in 38 innings at AAA. He was part of what's shaping up to be a very interesting draft class in 2024.

@cuppingmaster Yeah I was gonna add in that caveat as well. Harden is a good 1. I’d agree with Harden & Sonny. I know Arnold was a 1st rd draft pick and might take another year or two to reach the bigs with this hype but I do think Wei En Lin might be ready and the hype train has been surging!

Probably the A’s best pitching prospect since Sonny Gray and even then people thought he would ultimately pencil out as a reliever.

@StraightAs123 I think you got to be dominating 1 inning where batters are not seeing you 2,3, even 4 times before you can justify starting. A’s might need to go FA for that 5th spot. I think Lopez should be in Pen when back. Civale when back should be 5th spot. Short term sign Trevor Bauer
