A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH🇻🇦🕊️ 🧵 c. 33: First Christian Pentecost; descent of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples; preaching of St. Peter in Jerusalem; conversion, baptism and aggregation of some 3,000 persons to the first Christian community. St. Stephen, deacon, was stoned to death at Jerusalem; he is venerated as the first Christian martyr. c. 34: St. Paul, formerly Saul the persecutor of Christians, was converted and baptized. After three years of solitude in the desert, he joined the college of the apostles; he made three major missionary journeys and became known as the Apostle to the Gentiles; he was imprisoned twice in Rome and was beheaded there between 64 and 67. 39: Cornelius (the Gentile) and his family were baptized by St. Peter; a significant event signaling the mission of the Church to all peoples. 42: Persecution of Christians in Palestine broke out during the rule of Herod Agrippa; St. James the Greater, the first apostle to die, was beheaded in 44; St. Peter was imprisoned for a short time; many Christians fled to Antioch, marking the beginning of the dispersion of Christians beyond the confines of Palestine. At Antioch, the followers of Christ were called Christians for the first time. 49: Christians at Rome, considered members of a Jewish sect, were adversely affected by a decree of Claudius which forbade Jewish worship there. 51: The Council of Jerusalem, in which all the apostles participated under the presidency of St. Peter, decreed that circumcision, dietary regulations, and various other prescriptions of Mosaic Law were not obligatory for Gentile converts to the Christian community. The crucial decree was issued in opposition to Judaizers who contended that observance of the Mosaic Law in its entirety was necessary for salvation. 64: Persecution broke out at Rome under Nero, the emperor said to have accused Christians of starting the fire which destroyed half of Rome. 64 or 67: Martyrdom of St. Peter at Rome during the Neronian persecution. He established his see and spent his last years there after preaching in and around Jerusalem, establishing a see at Antioch, and presiding at the Council of Jerusalem. 70: Destruction of Jerusalem by Titus. 88-97: Pontificate of St. Clement I, third successor of St. Peter as bishop of Rome, one of the Apostolic Fathers. The First Epistle of Clement to the Corinthians, with which he has been identified, was addressed by the Church of Rome to the Church at Corinth, the scene of irregularities and divisions in the Christian community. 95: Domitian persecuted Christians, principally at Rome. c. 100: Death of St. John, apostle and evangelist, marking the end of the Age of the Apostles and the first generation of the Church. By the end of the century, Antioch, Alexandria and Ephesus in the East and Rome in the West were established centers of Christian population and influence. c. 107: St. Ignatius of Antioch was martyred at Rome. He was the first writer to use the expression, “the Catholic Church.” 112: Emperor Trajan, in a rescript to Pliny the Younger, governor of Bithynia, instructed him not to search out Christians but to punish them if they were publicly denounced and refused to do homage to the Roman gods. This rescript set a pattern for Roman magistrates in dealing with Christians. 117-38: Persecution under Hadrian. Many Acts of Martyrs date from this period. c. 125: Spread of Gnosticism, a combination of elements of Platonic philosophy and Eastern mystery religions. Its adherents claimed that its secret-knowledge principle provided a deeper insight into Christian doctrine than divine revelation and faith. One gnostic thesis denied the divinity of Christ; others denied the reality of his humanity, calling it mere appearance (Docetism, Phantasiasm).

On June 7, 1660, in Cotignac, France, an extraordinary event occurred... 🇻🇦 Gaspard Ricard, a humble shepherd, wandered under the scorching summer sun. His flask was empty, and no stream or spring was in sight. Parched and weary, he collapsed onto the grass, overcome by thirst and despair, pondering his fate under the relentless heat. Suddenly, an elderly man appeared before him. With calm authority, he said: “I am Joseph. Lift it and you will drink.” Joseph was pointing to a large boulder nearby, a rock that Ricard knew he couldn’t lift by himself. Yet, he tried, and somehow he was able to lift the boulder with ease. Underneath it was a fresh spring of water. Overjoyed, Ricard looked up to thank the mysterious stranger, but he had already vanished. Ricard rushed to the village to tell everyone about the miraculous spring. Soon enough the spring became associated with countless miracles, both physical and spiritual, and a shrine was built at the location. The spring of St. Joseph in Cotignac has been a pilgrimage site ever since, and a nearby shrine was eventually combined with a separate apparition of the Blessed Virgin Mary and St. Joseph that occurred in 1519 under the title of Our Lady of Graces. In a world that often celebrates grand gestures, St. Joseph’s miracle in Cotignac calls us to recognize the quiet, steadfast ways God works through His saints. Let us turn to St. Joseph in our times of need, trusting in his gentle guidance and protection.

There is a subtle yet serious danger in casually assuming or declaring of the dead, “They’re in heaven now,” without any qualification. Don’t fall into the error the protesters make. Here are three reasons why this presumption can harm souls (ours and theirs), according to Catholic teaching: 1️⃣It undermines the reality of Purgatory and our duty to pray for the dead. The Church teaches that many who die in God's grace still need purification before entering heaven's perfect holiness (CCC 1030–1032; Rev 21:27, "nothing unclean shall enter"). By assuming they're already there, we stop offering Masses, prayers, sacrifices, and indulgences for them, exactly what souls in Purgatory need most, since they can no longer help themselves. Some mystics even spoke of souls long forgotten, remaining in Purgatory because no one prayed for them. 2️⃣ It fosters presumption leading to Spiritual Sloth Presuming salvation (for ourselves or others) without evidence of heroic sanctity risks ignoring the gravity of sin and the particular judgment at death. Only the Church can canonize saints as definitively in heaven. For the rest of us, we simply don't know the state of a soul. Presumption can lull people into spiritual complacency: "If they're in heaven despite X, Y, Z, then I don't need to change much either." 3️⃣It can lead to a false universalism that downplays mortal sin and the possibility of damnation. When we proclaim "everyone goes straight to heaven" or treat every death as automatic glory, it quietly erodes the Church's warnings about dying in unrepented mortal sin (CCC 1035). It sends the message that serious sin has few eternal consequences, the very lie the enemy loves, as it discourages repentance and vigilance. We hope and pray they are with God, but true charity prays urgently for their purification and relief. Let's honor our departed by offering a Requiem prayer, a Mass intention, or a Rosary today. Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen. ✝️ What are some ways you remember to pray for the faithful departed?

You DO believe ‘The Science™️’… don’t you? For the first time, researchers at MIT have been able to witness the exact moment human life switches on, not minutes or hours later, but the very instant fertilization occurs. What unfolds in that split second is remarkable. The egg doesn’t simply react randomly. Instead, a coordinated surge of biochemical activity sweeps across it, like a silent signal being flipped on. Scientists describe this as a clear starting point, a biological “time zero” that launches all development that follows. Even more fascinating is how structured this activation is. The waves move in rhythmic, ordered patterns rather than chaos, echoing mathematical forms found everywhere in nature. The same proportions seen in spirals, shells, plant growth, and even galaxies appear to be reflected at the very beginning of human life. It’s a powerful reminder that from the very first second, life follows deep and universal rules woven into the fabric of nature itself. Life, truly, begins at conception🇻🇦

BLESSED SOLEMNITY OF ST. JOSEPH TO YOU & TO YOURS🇻🇦 In 1992, something extraordinary happened in Granada, Spain, a moment many would later call nothing short of a miracle... An Aviaco Airlines plane carrying 94 passengers crashed during landing and split in half upon impact. By all human expectations, this should have been a devastating tragedy. But incredibly… everyone survived! Among those reflecting on this event was a Spanish priest, Fr. Gonzalo Mazarrasa, who believed this was no mere coincidence. He had just completed '30 days of prayer' to Saint Joseph, asking for help in “impossible things.” In those days, the priest said, “I was studying in Rome in 1992 and residing at the Spanish College of Saint Joseph, which that year was celebrating its centenary.” “I was finishing a 30 day prayer to ask the Holy Patriarch for impossible things and a plane broke in two when landing (in Granada) with almost a hundred people aboard: the pilot was my brother.” “There was only one seriously injured man who, thank God, recovered. That day I learned that Saint Joseph has a lot of power before the Throne of God,” the priest said. For many faithful, this moment became a powerful reminder that God works even through the most unexpected and terrifying circumstances and that the intercession of Saint Joseph, the silent protector of the Holy Family, is still alive today. In moments when all seems lost… in situations that seem beyond hope… remember: nothing is impossible with God. St. Joseph, patron of the impossible, pray for us🇻🇦

How the Virgin Mary Converted a Jewish Atheist🇻🇦 He hated the Catholic Church until one event changed his life forever … Born into a wealthy Jewish family in France in 1814, Alphonse Ratisbonne was set to become part of his uncle’s large banking firm. At first Ratisbonne was a nominal Jew, but when his older brother converted to the Catholic faith & became a priest, a hidden rage woke within him. Ratisbonne wrote, “When my brother became a Catholic, & a priest, I persecuted him with a more unrelenting fury than any other member of my family. We were completely sundered; I hated him with a virulent hatred, though he had fully pardoned me.” Furthermore this hatred for his brother was broadened to include all Catholics, & Ratisbonne explained how it “made me believe all I heard of the fanaticism of the Catholics, & I held them accordingly in great horror.” This also affected his personal beliefs & he came to no longer believe in God. Ratisbonne was too busy following worldly pursuits to worry about his Jewish faith & his deep hatred for Catholicism only pushed him further away from any type of religion. He eventually began to feel the void in his heart, but at first sought to cure it through marriage. Ratisbonne was betrothed to his niece, but because of her young age the wedding was postponed. During this time of waiting Ratisbonne decided to travel without any singular purpose. His trip started out by traveling to Naples, where he stayed for about a month. After that Ratisbonne wanted to go to Malta, but took the wrong boat & arrived in Rome. He stayed there, making the best of it, & ran into an old friend. One day when visiting his friend Ratisbonne encountered a Catholic convert, Theodore de Bussieres, who knew Ratisbonne’s priest-brother. While this made Ratisbonne hate the man, he enjoyed conversing with him because of his knowledge. Later Ratisbonne visited de Bussieres again. They had a heated discussion about Catholicism & de Bussieres made a wager with Ratisbonne. "Have you the courage to submit yourself to a very simple & innocent test? Only to wear a little something I will give you; look, it is a medal of the Blessed Virgin. It seems very ridiculous, does it not? But, I assure you, I attach great value & efficacy to this little medal. Also you must say every night and morning the Memorare, a very short & very efficacious prayer which St. Bernard addressed to the Blessed Virgin Mary. While at first Ratisbonne protested at wearing the medal (which was the Miraculous Medal), he decided to put it around his neck & say the prayer each day. He figured that it couldn’t do any harm & would prove to all the ridiculous nature of Catholicism. Ratisbonne lived up to his side of the bargain, finding it easy to recite the Memorare. Then one day he was traveling in the city with de Bussieres & they stopped at the church Saint Andrea delle Fratte. When Ratisbonne entered entered the church it appeared to be engulfed in a marvelous light. He looked to an altar from where the light was coming & saw the Virgin Mary, appearing as she did on the Miraculous Medal. In Ratisbonne's own words: "I was scarcely in the church when a total confusion came over me. When I looked up, it seemed to me that the entire church had been swallowed up in shadow, except one chapel. It was as though all the light was concentrated in that single place. I looked over towards this chapel whence so much light shone, & above the altar was a living figure, tall, majestic, beautiful & full of mercy. It was the most holy Virgin Mary, resembling her figure on the Miraculous Medal. At this sight I fell on my knees right where I stood. Unable to look up because of the blinding light, I fixed my glance on her hands, & in them I could read the expression of mercy & pardon. In the presence of the Most Blessed Virgin, even though she did not speak a word to me, I understood the frightful situation I was in, my sins & the beauty of the Catholic Faith."

He left the church in tears, clutching his Miraculous Medal. Several days later he was received into the Catholic Church. After returning to Paris his betrothed was shocked and rejected him and his new religion. News of the conversion spread quickly. In February 1842 the Vatican held a canonical investigation of the circumstances surrounding Alphonse's conversion. After lengthy inquiry and many depositions, it concludes that his sudden conversion was entirely miraculous; an act of God brought through the powerful intercession of the Virgin. Alphonse’s brother, Father Theodor, was overjoyed by his brother’s conversion and they were soon re-united. Alphonse, having broken off his engagement, subsequently joined the Jesuit novitiate and was ordained a priest in 1847.

Ever heard why St. Raphael the Archangel is linked to the famous Pool of Bethesda?🇻🇦💧 His name means "God heals" and Catholic tradition beautifully connects him to one of the most hopeful scenes in Scripture! In John 5:1-9, we read about the Pool of Bethesda near the Sheep Gate in Jerusalem. A great crowd of the sick, blind, lame, and paralyzed waited there under five porticoes. Why? Because "an angel of the Lord descended at certain times into the pool and stirred up the water; whoever stepped in first after the stirring was made well of whatever disease he had." Many in Christian tradition identify this healing angel as St. Raphael himself, the same mighty Archangel who guided Tobias, cured blindness with fish gall (Book of Tobit), and stands among the seven who serve before God's throne. Raphael's role? Bringing God's healing power to the afflicted! The moving waters were a sign of divine mercy, limited to one at a time, first-come-first-healed, pointing forward to Jesus, who arrived and healed the paralytic man instantly with just a word, no race required. Christ is the true "living water" who heals freely and fully! 💧🙏 St. Raphael reminds us: God sends His angels to stir hope in our struggles, to guide us to healing, and to point us to the ultimate Healer, Jesus. Invoke St. Raphael today for physical, emotional, or spiritual healing. He's the patron of the sick, travelers, pharmacists, nurses, and happy meetings! Prayer: "Glorious Archangel St. Raphael, great prince of the heavenly court, you are illustrious for your gifts of wisdom and grace. You are a guide of those who journey by land or sea or air, consoler of the afflicted, and refuge of sinners. I beg you, assist me in all my needs and in all the sufferings of this life, as once you helped the young Tobias on his travels. Because you are the 'medicine of God,' I humbly pray you to heal the many infirmities of my soul and the ills that afflict my body. I especially ask of you the favor [mention your request], and the great grace of purity to prepare me to be the temple of the Holy Spirit. Amen."

Influencer bank accounts are going straight into discovery when the defamation suits start getting filed at scale. Every dollar. Every transfer. Every wire tied to coordinated smear campaigns will be pulled, traced, and dissected in court. The financiers behind these influencers have massive exposure. They will be targeted, and the influencers themselves will get flipped the moment the pressure hits. If you are paying for defamation, you are owning it. There is no insulation once the litigation machine starts moving. The FARA exposure is worse. If you are taking foreign money through shell entities or crypto and think that keeps you off the radar, you are setting yourself up for a very public reckoning. This ecosystem looks untouchable right now. It is not. When it breaks, it will not be slow or contained. It will hit fast, it will hit publicly, and it will take down everyone who thought they were too small, too clever, or too far removed to matter.

It is not enough to pray and fast externally, we must also examine our conscience sincerely and recognize the sins that separate us from God. Many of these sins have become common and even accepted in the world today. Yet, according to the teachings of the Church, especially as explained in the Baltimore Catechism, sin is an offense against God, who is infinitely good and worthy of all our love. We must not fall into despair, thinking God will not forgive us, nor into presumption, thinking we can sin without consequence. Both are dangerous for the soul. The Sacrament of Confession is a great mercy given by Our Lord. No matter how grave our sins may be, if we confess them with true contrition, God forgives and restores our soul to grace. According to the visions of the Famous Catholic Mystic, Blessed Anne Catherine Emmerich, the holy cup has been passed down through generations since the time of Noah...🇻🇦 1️⃣ She described its ancient origins: delivered by angels to Noah during the ark's construction, containing a grain of wheat and a vine branch as symbols of future mysteries. 2️⃣ It passed through history, eventually stored (and nearly forgotten) in the Temple treasury in Jerusalem. Priests tried to melt it down but couldn't due to its mysterious material, so it was sold. St. Veronica (Seraphia) purchased it and lent it to Jesus for sacred meals and festivals, including the Last Supper. 3️⃣ Her detailed vision of its appearance: pear-shaped, brownish highly polished metal overlaid with gold, two small handles, foot of dark virgin gold with a serpent motif, grapes, and precious stones. It included inner elements like a smaller vase, plate cover, spoon hidden in the foot, and more, Jesus alone fully understood its composition. 4️⃣ Post-Crucifixion, Peter and John retrieved it from Veronica's home. The large chalice was entrusted to the early Christian community in Jerusalem, specifically under St. James the Less (first bishop there). Emmerich saw that it remained preserved in Jerusalem, and she believed it would one day reappear in a providential way. 5️⃣ Interestingly, the famous Holy Chalice of Valencia (kept in Valencia Cathedral, Spain, and venerated by many as the true Grail) is an agate stone cup with a brownish hue, some note it matches parts of Emmerich's color and material description (brownish, ancient stone-like qualities). However, her visions point to the chalice staying in Jerusalem, preserved there, rather than being transported to Spain. So the one in Valencia may have been another sacred vessel used in early Christian times or a different chalice altogether, not the exact one from the Last Supper per her revelations.

Pope Benedict XVI is right🇻🇦 When people do not speak out against evil because of concern for their own well-being, evil wins. We sometimes allow evil to pass because of our jobs or our social standing. We assume someone else, someone braver, will fight. But sometimes no one fights. No one says anything. You don’t have to be a hero. Sometimes, simply saying, “This is not right,” is all that is needed.
