Enforced disappearances are a form of collective punishment against Baloch students. Danial Nasir, a NUML graduate, was abducted from Karachi on Feb 16. Why are students being targeted? We demand his safe and immediate release. #ReleaseDanialNasir #SaveBalochStudents

What is even more concerning is the direct involvement of the law enforcement agencies behind all those illegal acts and, unfortunately, they are never held accountable for what is wrong and what has been made a common practice in Balochistan. Last night (April 1-2), the security personnel opened indiscriminate firing on a family, executing three, including a spouse and their daughter, and injuring another three persons in Cheeri Malaar area of Awaran. The deceased have been identified as Mohammad Umar, his wife Faiza Baloch and their daughter Mahzaib. While another woman of the same family, identified as Fehmeeda, is among the three injured ones. Such incidents have become a routine where the Baloch civilians are treated as third-grade citizens and their human-rights-violators/murderers are never questioned. Despite eye witnesses, the cases remained in the dust of ignorance, while the judiciary is equally silent of all the cases irrespective of the fact that such incidents are as visible as sun – to the government, to the judiciary and to the Baloch civilians. On account of Baloch Women Forum (BWF), we denounce every act that tends to breach the laws of the land, no matter who the actors are – if the ones suffering are innocent civilians. Presently, the law enforcement agencies, as we have been observing and recording, are the direct violators of the indigenous people’s rights. The Awaran’s Cheeri Malaar incident must be probed impartially and those involved in the heinous crime must be reduced to exemplary punishment. 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐤𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧, 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐜𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦

My year in solitary confinement has not broken me. My peaceful fight for Baloch rights in Pakistan goes on I’ve reflected on why our peaceful protests are treated as a threat, when nonviolent political engagement is the very foundation of a democratic society. Resistance is often the path to justice, and such movements should not be suppressed. When a state turns its power against human rights groups and peaceful political actors, it reveals not strength, but weakness. Our peaceful resistance has allowed the message to reach far and wide. People of conscience are aware of atrocities in Balochistan, yet greater global attention is needed to end the genocide. theguardian.com/global-develop…

I addressed the 61st session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, where I presented the grave and ongoing human rights situations in Balochistan. I underscored the alarming rise in enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings—violations that continue to intensify in the absence of accountability and justice. As a responsible political voice, I have consistently raised concerns regarding these anti-humanitarian practices and have called for transparent investigations and accountability for those responsible. Regrettably, these appeals have largely gone unanswered, leaving affected families in a state of prolonged distress, uncertainty, and grief. Through this platform, I called upon state authorities and international bodies, including the @UN , to take the concerns of the Baloch people seriously and to ensure the full protection and equal application of their fundamental human rights. I further stressed the need for responsible, independent and fact-based reporting by national and international media on the ground realities. Addressing these challenges requires a collective and principled commitment. All stakeholders must fulfill their responsibilities in upholding truth, justice and human dignity.

Human rights violations in Balochistan continue to paint a deeply troubling picture. Enforced disappearances remain one of the most serious concerns, with security personnel frequently accused as the primary perpetrators. Students, teachers and civilians, people from every walk of life have been affected, leaving families in a constant state of fear, uncertainty and grief. Mumtaz Baloch’s case is one of many, highlighting the urgent need for accountability and action. We call for the immediate and safe release of Mumtaz Baloch and all other missing persons, and for an end to these practices. #ReleaseMumtazBaloch

Saifullah Baloch only 21 years old, was abducted by security forces on 12 March 2026 from Quetta and has not been traced since.Since that moment, his family’s world has stood still, trapped between hope and heartbreak, with no word of where he is. This silence is more than absence. It is pain that lingers through sleepless nights, unanswered questions and a future filled with uncertainty. Across Balochistan, many families share this same suffering, waiting, searching, and holding onto hope in the face of silence. Saifullah may be one name among many, but to his family, he is everything. Do not let his story fade into silence. #ReleaseSaifullahBaloch

Saifullah Baloch, a 21-year old mechanic and son of Attaullah, was forcibly disappeared by security forces on 12 March 2026 from Quetta. Since that day, his family has had no information about his whereabouts. They continue to endure deep trauma and emotional agony, living in constant uncertainty. His case reflects a wider and deeply concerning issue in Balochistan, where enforced disappearances have affected countless families. Many continue to wait for their loved ones without answers, facing years of pain and silence. The family of Saifullah will be launching a full day social media campaign tomorrow to highlight his enforced disappearance. Through this campaign the family is appealing for answers and urging the authorities to clarify his situation and ensure his safe return. I request everyone, including human rights organizations, civil society and people from all walks of life to take part in this campaign, raise their voices and stand in solidarity with Saifullah’s family. #ReleaseSaifullahBaloch

On the occasion of Eid, while much of the Muslim world celebrates with joy, unity and togetherness, many families in Balochistan experience the day under the shadow of grief and uncertainty. For Baloch, Eid is not defined by festivity, but by absence. Mothers continue to wait for sons who have not returned, children grow up without the presence of their fathers and households remain incomplete. Enforced disappearances have left deep emotional and psychological scars, turning what should be a time of celebration into a period of quiet anguish. On this occasion of Eid, instead of celebration many affected families gather in protest—raising their voices for justice, accountability and the safe return of their loved ones. What should be a day of joy becomes a day of resistance, as they continue to demand answers and an end to enforced disappearances. For many Baloch families, Eid will only truly arrive when their missing family members return home safely.

Today’s presser, or let's term it a forced presser, of Farzana Zehri alongside Sarfraz Bugti and co, raises serious legal, ethical and human rights concerns. In the presser, she is seen making allegations against @SabihaBaloch_ , a political activist known for her political activism. This incident reflects an increasingly concerning pattern in which individuals, who have reportedly been held incommunicado, are later presented before the media to deliver statements that appear aligned with official or government narratives ,which is forced, biased and contains no legal value. The reliability and voluntariness of such statements remain highly questionable, particularly, following her prolonged and undisclosed detention. In parallel, there is a discernible trend whereby political activists are subjected to fabricated charges and portrayed as being linked to armed groups. Such actions raise serious concerns about the misuse of legal and institutional mechanisms to discredit dissent and curtail legitimate political expression. Dr. Sabiha Baloch has been subjected to sustained pressure due to her political activism. Attempts to associate her with militancy appear to form part of a broader effort to undermine her credibility and marginalize her voice. Such actions are strongly condemnable and reflect a troubling disregard for fundamental rights. These tactics cannot be allowed to silence political dissent or suppress legitimate voices.

Zahid Baloch a student leader along with Asad Baloch have been missing for twelve years after being forcibly disappeared while they were students. Since that day, no information has been provided about their fate or whereabouts. For more than a decade their families have endured unimaginable pain living each day between hope and uncertainty. Through peaceful protests, legal avenues and appeals at national and international levels including the @UN , they have consistently demanded answers. Yet, there has been no accountability. This suffering has been further compounded by acts of collective punishment. Last year Zahid Baloch’s brother Shahjan was reportedly killed in an incident attributed to a state-backed armed group, raising serious concerns about the safety of the family and highlighting an ongoing pattern of intimidation. In Balochistan, many bright and educated voices continue to be silenced some remain missing while others are behind bars. #SaveZahidAndAsadBaloch #EndEnforcedDisappearances
