As I said yesterday, voting and not violence, is how we must settle political differences in this country, and no one gets a pass for inciting or committing acts of violence. I am very grateful that neither @POTUS nor anyone else was seriously injured or killed Saturday. We all should be grateful. But when the man with the biggest megaphone in the world persistently viillainizes his opponents, and ignores acts of violence against them...even celebrates their passing.:.it has a profoundly dangerous impact. His plea for unity and peace in the immediate aftermath of the shooting was welcome but short-lived. It's sad, but not unexpected, that it didn't take long for that spirit of comity to disappear, like beads of water rolling off a tarp.
