When someone positions themselves as a voice for women and children, this kind of conduct is unacceptable. A basic request for clarity shouldn’t trigger hostility. If you can’t handle scrutiny, you shouldn’t be speaking on behalf of anyone.

SNAPCHAT AND CHILD SAFETY WHAT UK DATA AND SAFEGUARDING REPORTS SHOW Before allowing children to use Snapchat, it is worth understanding what UK police-recorded data and child protection organisations are consistently showing about online child exploitation. According to the Vulnerability Knowledge and Practice Programme (VKPP), which analyses police-recorded child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) crimes in England and Wales: ▪️ 122,768 CSAE offences were recorded in total ▪️ 51,672 had an online element ▪️ 11,912 were linked to Snapchat ▪️ WhatsApp was linked to 1,870 offences ▪️ Instagram was linked to 1,705 offences This made Snapchat the most frequently identified platform in online CSAE offences. Separate NSPCC analysis of online grooming offences (Sexual Communication with a Child) found that where the platform was identified, Snapchat accounted for approximately 48–50% of offences. In child abuse image cases, it was linked in around 44% of cases. It is important to be clear what these figures do and do not mean. They do not suggest that every child using Snapchat is at risk, nor that all offences occur solely on the platform. They reflect cases where police were able to identify the communication method used, meaning the recorded data is likely only part of the overall picture. Safeguarding organisations repeatedly highlight features of Snapchat that can be exploited in grooming contexts: ▪️ Disappearing messages ▪️ Temporary images and videos ▪️ Private direct messaging ▪️ Group chats ▪️ Location sharing through Snap Map Concerns arise not from any single feature, but from how they combine to create private, fast-moving conversations that are harder to monitor in real time. A common pattern identified in police investigations is “platform deflection”, where contact begins in public spaces such as games or comment sections before moving into private messaging apps like Snapchat or WhatsApp. This pattern is seen across multiple platforms. TikTok, gaming platforms like Roblox and Fortnite, Discord communities, and anonymous chat apps such as Yubo can all be used in similar ways to initiate contact before moving conversations into private channels. Across all of these environments, the key safeguarding concern is the same: large child user bases, ease of contact from strangers, and the ability to move conversations into private, less visible spaces. It is also important to emphasise that most children who use these platforms will never experience exploitation. However, police data and safeguarding reports consistently show that offenders do use them to target minors.

Below should be all you need to remove this from your kids phone ⛔️ Regardless of what country you live in if you’re looking for 1 social media ‘networking’ app to classify as the worst paedophile infested app…. look no further than SNAPCHAT - aka PEDOCHAT. Just yesterday our online team AGAIN has started a new investigation into the grooming of a 14 yr old girl from Germany 🇩🇪 via SNAPCHAT. As always with our online investigations our findings will be handed to law enforcement **IF** they are interested to investigate!!! Time to put your big underpants on Australia and deport all ‘non Australian’ convicted paedophiles. 📰 Article all parents must read that’s hidden behind a paywall: A depraved man who elicited sexual abuse material from more than 80 children in Australia and overseas via social media will spend up to 30 years behind bars. Karan Kumar, 34, often used threats and lied about his age and gender online during the offending on applications including Snapchat which spanned from 2018 to 2023. He also offered money, vapes and a PlayStation to some victims in return for explicit images of themselves or to pressure them to perform sexual acts. "No child and no family should have to deal with the aftermath of such heinous conduct," Supreme Court of Tasmania Justice Kate Cuthbertson said on Friday. Kumar's ability to access children with "apparent ease" showed the importance of federal government age restrictions on social media use and the dangers of such platforms, she said. Kumar was sentenced to a total of 30 years' jail with a non-parole period of 18 years. He earlier pleaded guilty to more than 80 child sexual abuse-related offences, including 67 counts of engaging in sexual activity with a child using a carriage service. Kumar first came to the attention of Queensland police in 2021 in relation to a social media account set up under a fake name purporting to be an 11-year-old boy. After a search warrant in 2023, he was found with 551 child exploitation videos on his laptop and mobile phone. Ms Cuthbertson said Kumar had barely shown any remorse for the predatory offending, which he recorded, and hadn't taken any steps toward rehabilitation. The crimes were "breathtaking in their volume", she said, adding the state had been unable to find a comparable case in terms of the number of victims. The mother of one girl said her daughter had become withdrawn, struggled with anxiety and isolated herself as a result of Kumar, Ms Cuthbertson said. Kumar, who was living in Australia on a bridging visa, had since been disowned by his family in India and accepted he would be deported at some point, she said. He will placed on the sex offender register for 25 years after his release from jail. THE END. Source: Adam Whittington /fleetwood adamwhittington.com
