@Staggly @PotterWorldW Her statement was that no one should lose their job because of her. You can interpret that however you want, but it doesn't sound very positive to me. I won't even watch the series because of Essiedu; his voice alone is awful enough, and Snape is my favorite character. So, no.

Alan Rickman was handpicked to play Snape by J.K. Rowling and received special instructions from her about the character. Rowling even provided him with vital details of Snape's backstory, not revealed until the final novel.

@Staggly @PotterWorldW Most older characters were too old. Harrys parents died around 20 y old ( got harry right after graduation and then died) yet they look mid 30s as if they aged entire time. All the teachers from that gang should be around 35, some looked mid 50s

@Staggly @PotterWorldW The trailer doesn't look bad, and yet she doesn't need to comment on Black Snape, since she can't change it and would only add fuel to the fire, regardless of her opinion. She could simply be indifferent, but there was never any direct endorsement of Essiedu.

@Staggly @PotterWorldW To my knowledge, she only read the scripts for the first two episodes. Those might be good. But she didn't say anything positive or negative about Paapa Essiedu. She only said that she can't change anything about the casting in general. She tends to stay out of it.

@Staggly @PotterWorldW She has no influence over the casting, but doesn't want anyone to be fired. But she has never expressed her approval of the black Snape. Paapa Essiedu completely fails in terms of Snape's appearance; he is the complete opposite.
