@RealAlbanianPat Same with many LatAm "socialist" countries. Actually the US has pretty low wealth inequality globally speaking.

I always find it funny that China has one of the highest wealth inequality in the world despite being a “socialist” country

@RealAlbanianPat At some point the economy gets bad enough that the pension and healthcare salary cheques start to bounce but I guess we're not there yet.

At this rate the Canadian economy will die and Mark Carney and Doug Ford will be re-elected again and again

@hyprgamousbosch @bx_on_x One problem is that it assumes certain traits aren't correlated. Like it assumes PhDs are just as likely to be non-obese, non-smoking and non-drinking as the rest of the population. I'm not sure about drinking, but pretty sure PhDs are less likely to be obese or smoking.

@hyprgamousbosch @bx_on_x Why does it cap the maximum age at 70? Are widowers not allowed to find love again? It seems to think 47% of men aged 18-70 smoke which seems really high unless they include "smoked a couple reefers in college"?

It's depressing to me that this information would come as a surprise to anyone, but considering how many men insist to me that attraction is purely superficial, rather than so much of it being subconscious and about many things beyond looking pretty in a photo on the internet, I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. Men and women alike seem to know very little about how sex, biology, and attraction work in real life nowadays

It would be a national humiliation for the United States to allow the UK to extradite Andrew and Tristan Tate, two American citizens, over trumped up “Me Too” charges. The same country that persecutes White people for speech while importing rapist migrants.

@LozzaFox I can’t see any way the Trump Department of Justice will extradite these American Passport holders to England. Especially when their two tier justice system is totally compromised & relations with London are especially poor right now.

The amount of things that progressives believe without any evidence at all OR despite clear evidence proving these things are not true or didn't happen is really wild. A friend of mine informed me yesterday that people in America are being arrested for wearing "Free Palestine" shirts. He also literally had no idea that during the Biden adminstration the Democrats worked directly with Twitter to silence, censor, and ban certain people, information and stories that didn't fit or that challenged their preferred political/ideological narrative/aims. These are very educated people! For people who consider themselves to be very well informed, they seem to have zero interest in reading... I think they must literally get all of their "facts" and "information" from their friends' Facebook posts?? As far as I can tell, progressives believe: 1) The Covid response was reasonable—the government was just trying to protect us 2) The Covid "vaccine" saved lives 3) Buying EVs will save the planet and help stop climate change 4) Plastic straws and plastic bags are evil and should be banned 5) Islam is not bad or inherently dangerous 6) Neo-Nazis love and support Trump 7) The police in America are racist 8) All Latinos hate Trump 9) Trump is racist and everyone who supports Trump is racist 10) Trump is trying to take away women's rights 11) Trump is a r*pist 12) Trump is a p*do 13) A police officer was murdered on J6 by 'right wing extremists' or 'domestic terrorists' (they still do not understand that Feds were involved in that whole thing either) 14) Mass graves of children were discovered at old residential school sites in Canada. These children were murdered 15) People are being deported and/or cancelled for "criticizing Israel" 16) The wild fires in Canada and California are caused by "climate change" 17) The West is the worst colonial power ever to have existed. It is the fault of America that other countries are poor. 18) There was a "genocide" perpetrated against Indigenous people in Canada 19) Homelessness is caused by poverty, not addiction. Free homes for homeless people will fix the problem of homelessness. 20) The Trucker Convoy were racists and "Nazis" 21) Raw milk is very dangerous! They have no idea that paid protestors are a thing and believe that the protests they see against ICE, Trump, etc are organic. They have no idea that the Southern Poverty Law Center was funding neo-Nazi groups and paid people to plan and attend the “Unite the Right” rally in Charlottesville They have no idea that BLM was a scam based on nothing real and the leaders made off with millions I know I am forgetting many other things... What else?

@StoodWe @melanie_balek @Lauren_Southern @davereaboi @RealCandaceO If you’re truly on the side of the right, you don’t focus on infighting. You just keep on pushing your message. @StoodWe @melanie_balek @Lauren_Southern @davereaboi @RealCandaceO Her actual political views are quite unclear at this point… at least to me. There’s this strange feeling you get when she talks or when you read a post that she’s holding back what she really thinks… And if I were to guess, I think she’s a disillusioned libtard at this point.

I don’t understand why people online pretend to be delusional about this. Especially conservative men. Constant yapping about “migrants are dangerous, women shouldn’t be alone with men that aren’t their husbands” But when I prefer a female uber driver that’s a problem? I’m not sure you people believe anything at all beyond whats convenient for your current meltdown.

“I’m stoked when I get a female uber driver because I’m not gonna get killed” Lol and this woman isn’t a feminist how?

@Lauren_Southern Hey Lauren, I've been trying to touch grass lately. I went birdwatching at Point Pelee, and the group at the table next to me was talking about Trump. Then I went to a family get together with my uncles, grandparents and their siblings and they were talking about Trump.

Every day, I get letters from young people who grew up inside the political ecosystem and are finally realizing it simply doesn’t survive contact with real life. Online, forcing every major life decision into a rigid ideological box makes you “based.” In real life, it makes you miserable and everyone around you thinks you’re insane. More and more people are breaking out. Real life is complicated.... that's not a defect to be corrected by political yapping online all day. That's the entire point of being human.

This is incorrect. The charts you've displayed actually show hot/heatwave days increasing since about 1980. Moreover, Canada's land area is warming at about 2X the global average (Fig. 1). "Fire weather" (ie. hot, dry, and windy days, which have also increased in many areas of Canada), isn't the only factor that drives the increase in area burned that is being observed (Fig. 2). Canada's accelerated warming means earlier winter snowmelt, and longer and warmer summers, which means a longer fire season, as well as greater evaporation potential of forest fuels. Lightning may also be increasing in remote, higher-latitude areas. Canada's area burned is increasing even while overall fires are decreasing (Fig. 3), driven primarily by the presence of fewer, but larger fires. Decreases in overall fires likely result from humans becoming smarter and more careful about accidental starts. Humans still account for ~55% of all wildfires, but area burned is mainly driven by lightning (81% of area burned). The build up of fuel plays less of a role than the increase in favourable weather and fuel conditions for burning. A forest full of dense fuels still won't burn if it is wet and cool. Finally, your drought graphic is conveniently compressed, which misses what may be playing a significant role in the well-above average area burned seen since 2021 (Fig. 4). There has been increased drought during that time frame (Fig. 5), which is likely playing a role in increased area burned. While I believe this is being exacerbated by background anthropogenic warming (itself accelerated by decreases in sulphate aerosols in recent years), it may also be driven in part by the strongly negative PDO in the North Pacific during the same time frame. More information here: - climateinstitute.ca/news/fact-shee… - ipcc.ch/report/ar6/wg2… - cwfis.cfs.nrcan.gc.ca/en/fire-history - ciffc.net/statistics - canada.ca/en/environment… I know you're a smart guy...some day you will come around and see the light 😇

The funniest part about all of the people blaming the Canadian forest fires on CO₂ emissions is that CO₂ is actually a fire suppressant. But if you’re going to argue that CO₂ is causing more favorable “fire weather” conditions, well that isn’t true, at least in Canada. Hot days and drought have not increased since 1910. The increase in Canadian forest fire burn area (which only emerged in 2023) is due to primarily the buildup of fuel on the ground from decades of fire suppression practices. It is a story all too common in North America and elsewhere.
