haven't been very active in the @veefriends community as of late but every now and then I do check the emails as my main info source of what's going on.. increasingly though I'm just ignoring them because almost each one is a right hook - "preorder this" - "your discount expires soon" - "exclusive early access begins" (to buy something) i screenshotted what's come in recently from no-reply@veefriends.com and it's pretty much all right hooks. 😬 last year you had these weekly "roundups" / "this week in veefriends" which were somewhat informative with what's happening in the community, etc. and that was interesting because from my pov - VF in this building phase rn is ALL about the community. maybe physical collectors appreciate these notifications but for the majority of VF'ers who are like me and here for the long run supporting @garyvee and enjoy being part of the online/offline veefriends community .. it's a bit of a buzzkill no offence hope the team (who are wonderful btw) can read this feedback with open arms!

@landondward @veefriends Agreed, when people compare this to be the next 'Disney" or "Pokemon", you dont buy everything in the gift shop at Disney world.... I bought a VF1 Crane a year ago to remind me to be curious. But my guy is Toronto & St Louis

My best advice for people getting into @veefriends Pick something specific that you want to collect, like a character or a type of collectible. Don’t make it the most popular one. Make it personal to you. And stick to that and only that. And if something else comes up that you’re willing to break that rule, the you know you ACTUALLY want it and aren’t falling into hype or FOMO. I collect the Crane. That’s pretty much it. Thankfully the crane isn’t super popular and is very accessible for me to collect. But Curiosity is a big deal for me, so it’s personal. But when the Skilled Skeleton MOTU collab came out, I HAD to have it. It’s so sick and it’s something I’d never sell. Same for Podcast Puffs and other small one-offs. Collect why you actually enjoy. Don’t collect for the clout. You’ll have a better and longer time in the VF world. Best of luck out there!

@JCourageFIT @studiomccann 🙋‍♂️ ill stick to this. I agree that they should be open until you redeem your comics allocation or whatever sells out whichever comes first. Us international people get killed on shipping.

@LorcanaMama My thoughts exactly. Love the hero concept, just this drop isnt for me. I always try to take a high level look, season ticket holders / people that go to sports games / amusement parks dont buy everything in the gift shop.

Honest take on the H.E.R.O announcement: I LOVE the idea of an FOTL-style Veefriends release. It’s a genuinely great added benefit to holding an NFT — innovative as hell. Something we haven’t seen in the non-sports trading card space. Straight A+ for taking a tried-and-true sports card concept and making it a real holder perk. That said, as a small upcoming breaker the biggest con for me is the 6-month capital hold on the 2026 Treasure Chest. I know they said it’s only for this first run, but I’m personally OUT on this initial H.E.R.O product (my allotment is available). Breaking is a cash-flow business. Tying up money that long doesn’t validate the reward — especially when the original Treasure Chest has already seen major depreciation. (Just bought one today for $210… $140 under MSRP.) High risk, low reward, dead capital for half a year just isn’t enticing. I really wish they had launched this with a coin-only product instead. Just give us what we want @garyvee !That feels like it could actually slap once they get there. Overall: Big fan of the innovation. Not a fan of the first product choice or the lengthy dead-capital period. What do y’all think about H.E.R.O? #Veefriends #HERO

As long as you read them somewhere/somehow that’s all I need to hear. 😊 I collect sealed ones myself, and I think it can be a great play. (Not financial advice.) But if we don’t read them, learn from them, we are missing the reason they are made in the first place in my opinion. READ MORE COMICS! 💜 But also - buy, collect and grade!
