@Lappy14 I agree 100%. I would honestly be disappointed if they didn't end up making it where as last year it was kind of like a bonus making it and them getting that playoff experience. In the end, I think that experience is going to help them and they will make it! After that, who knows

@Lappy14 Haha i guess! The way I see it, last year they should not have been there and overachieved. In a way it was a bad thing cause obviously raised expectations. So this year, people are panicking but we are in a great position, and we discovered a lot about certain players 😀

They’re not playing “badly.” But they’re certainly not playing “good enough.” It’s where small upgrades make a difference. Gallagher, Anderson, Bolduc, Danault, Dach, Texier, Evans… they’re all fine. But 6-7 of them in a lineup is not. #Habs

@ivandemigoal We need to make a move. Thomas fits our age range and our cap structure. A number 1 centre at 8M/year you wont find out there. By the time Hage is good we'll have to start re-signing guys. Thomas is a proven asset and I'm not scared to move an unproven Hage for him.

I’m not upset about this. The price for Thomas is really high right now, and if the reports about Buffalo’s offer are true, it would’ve been extremely tough to beat. Our window is just starting to open. Adding Thomas would’ve been a great move, no doubt, but I’m confident they’ll find another way to improve the team in the next couple of years.

@mndamico The Habs have to make a move and not just a little bullshit move. The time has come to reward the Suzukis and Caufields of the world. If it takes Hage, do it. You've signed most of the core long term and can afford it. The time to become a real contender has arrived. Get it done

And I re-iterate, Montreal is one of the teams circling around Thomas. But they are not the most aggressive. Detroit and Utah seem more willing to get close to Armstrong's price. They also have much more to offer in the form of NHL-ready prospects.

@MurphysLaw74 @TheRGMedia Can't do a rebuild when you have no assets. They dont have the balls to do what the Habs did which is a full rebuild. The only players who would get you significant returns are Matthews and Nylander. They'll be mediocre for years to come.
