“I had Covid and I’m fine”, is a statement I hear a lot. Unfortunately it doesn’t account for the hidden/delayed damage Covid causes. Some other dangerous viruses have minimal or no symptoms during the infection phase but cause major damage later. HIV can have no symptoms upon infection, for years, but lead to AIDS, HPV can have no symptoms, and lead to cancer. Perceived absence of symptoms or damage in the acute phase is not a safety net or a reason to feel comfortable catching Covid repeatedly. Avoid Covid.

I don't have many regrets in life, but the more I see through personal experience how well KN95s & N95s work to block airborne viruses, I really wish I'd known about them much earlier in life because I sure as hell would have masked during winter before the pandemic started.

it cracks me up every time a doctor in the Pitt tells a coughing patient “well good news is you’re negative for flu and Covid” but they’re not masked… yeah it’s good for YOU too, doc??? when one dr realizes he was exposed to an active TB case he THEN puts on an N95 😭😭😭

My aunt, the doctor, told me a new joke. She asked: Did you hear that the CDC is pausing testing for rabies, smallpox, and monkeypox? And when I asked for the punchline she just replied: No, this is real it’s not an April Fool’s joke. And then neither of us laughed.
