This morning, we continued our district’s AI Journey with another opportunity to think forward about leveraging AI to effectively elevate our system during our monthly District Leadership Team meeting! 🦾💡🤔 The conversation during today’s PL session focused on how we are evaluating the AI tools currently being used and developing metrics to measure their impact on our work, related to each leader’s role and context. In Ector County ISD, the question is always what problem are we trying to solve by using AI? We believe it is the responsibility of our leaders to be informed, to be intentional and to take responsibility for the opportunity at hand. The question was never whether AI would change how organizations operate. This week, our ECISD Technology family took learning about ourselves & each other to a new level with the CORE Recon approach! 💪🏼🎯🪖 CORE Recon is a digital assessment tool that helps teams connect better by understanding each person’s temperament. By completing a 5 minute digital assesment, we learned how to communicate more effectively with each other based on our natural preferences and stress responses. Every team member left with a digital tool (in their pocket, on their phone) to guide interactions, using each other’s profiles! 💪🏼 Shout out to Cynthia & Brian for taking us next level and for all that we learned this week! Our Ector County ISD Digital Learning Specialists kicked off our Student Centered AI Use Pilot at the #TechyTribe Ambassadors meeting. For the next several months, each teacher will choose one of these three approaches & will be teaching students to use AI in one of these ways to level up learning! 🦾🤖 During this pilot, we are hoping to gain feedback from these teachers on both the student’s experience to improve our approach & insight into what is most appropriate for each age group of students when engaging with AI. I’m super excited for them to get started & to see what we can learn. No better perspective to get than that of a teacher as we continue to develop what student centered AI use looks like for our classrooms to make a bigger impact on teaching & learning! 💪🏼 @TechECISD @Tech_ECISD #AI #artificialintelligence #ECISDTTA

Last week, we had the opportunity to attend the Google AI Leadership Event in Chicago, representing Ector County ISD! 🤖🦾🍎 I’m proud of the forward-thinking work ECISD is doing and appreciated the chance to collaborate with nearly 30 other districts that are also leading the way in this initiative. I am excited to bring our new learning back home and look forward to the incredible experiences the new Google AI tools will provide for our teachers and students. Our students deserve the best, and that is exactly what we aim to deliver. This development is transforming the learning experience for learners of all ages, and I am pumped about it, y’all! This year our ECISD Technology family is continuing our growth journey with one of my favorites, Cynthia! ♥️💪🏼 She came and led six choice sessions for our team that focused on “Evolve” from the ECISD Leadership Definition. I’m always so amazed how much I can learn in a short time from her & it made my heart so proud to see everyone take it all in! 💻😍 We talk a lot about leadership being an action, not a title & I saw so many examples of that this week.
