We hired a 19 year old at my work and my god, it is something awful to watch this kid learn about living in the real world for the first time. I try to celebrate his wins and support him when he does a good job because you can literally see the cracks in his worldview as the days pass.
Like, I’m a cynical old bitch at 30, and I try to keep that cynicism away when I talk to him. Is this like one hundredth of what parenting is like? He likes musicals and he can afford to see his first musical this weekend. I cheered for him. He is my work son
