In honor of Black History Month, the Ohio Statehouse invites the community to attend four engaging programs in every Tuesday in February, beginning February 3, at noon in the Atrium, and are FREE and open to the public. ASL interpretation will be available.

🚨 BREAKING: I just introduced the Child Care Fraud Prevention Act in the Ohio legislature-- which will create the most robust fraud prevention system in the country for our state's publicly funded child care facilities. The key provisions are as follows: ✅ Mandatory camera systems to allow visual inspections in real time. ✅ Real time access to stored video for the Ohio Department of Children and Youth (DCY). ✅ Statewide audit system to be set up by DCY to monitor live and stored video. ✅ Immediate suspension of taxpayer payments pending investigation if fraud is suspected. ✅ Creation of an enforcement pipeline from DCY to the State Auditor to the Attorney General. ✅ Online tracking portal for child attendance controlled by parents with use of a QR code. This bill will create a simple rule: If you are a daycare taking taxpayer dollars, you will prove attendance, prove services, and remain in compliance-- or you will lose funding and be subject to prosecution.
