A more interesting publishing model could be a mag with five or so editors who only publish the most polarizing submissions, no consensus candidates, just the stories that floored one editor and revolted or offended or baffled the rest

before moving to new york I hadn’t fully appreciated the extent to which literally every single 27-29 year old in this city runs or contributes to a semi-underground print magazine and will organise red stripe-fuelled launch events in rooms with beautiful exposed brick walls
