Seattle DSA just voted 91-67 against having a debate on endorsing Kshama Sawant’s campaign for Congress. This decision helps no one but @RepAdamSmith, and it extends DSA’s failure to challenge powerful Democrats. The same convention voted to endorse Democrat Jaelynn Scott, who is using the same consultant firm (Upper Left Strategies) that consults corporate Democrats like Seattle Councilmember Rob Saka and AIPAC-backed Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland. We need to reject opportunism and sectarianism, and break the socialist movement away from the Democratic Party.
