This is a major problem with evangelicals. There is no commitment to evangelicalism. They measure conversions in "decisions," not baptisms and confirmations.
Many of the numbers of the converts of Catholicism have been preparing to enter the Church for nearly a year.

@catholicpat Once I started researching, I started reading the Catechism. Shortly after that, I was in RCIA. I hadn't met a single evangelistically minded person. So maybe its not influencers, but I think that the conversion stories go farther because of the internet.

@catholicpat Interesting perspective. I know for myself, I was exposed to books I would have never read due to online content. I had started a podcast, and decided to start doing research to respond to Catholicism, but I started with online videos to find resources.

@catholicpat Has the church been doing street evangelism? I'm not sure you're going to get those kinds of numbers simply from going out and doing evangelism. Even evangelicals would be jealous of these numbers.
Relative to Bible in a Year, it has like over a billion downloads.

@ThomisticDan They may be helping the rise, but no the spike has more to do with the apostolates and parishes who have been working hard to evangelize the last few decades

I'm starting to think that the "Book is better than movie" debate is not so much about the book or the movie being better, but whether someone prefers the story telling medium of words to the visual medium of movies.
Lord of the Rings is a great movie, but it is not the books.

Commuted a bit to see Project Hail Mary for one of the last IMAX showings. Definitely worth it.
The visual drama of the space images plus microscopic breakthroughs makes me think of the old Powers of 10 project--new levels of awe unlocked at each step.
