There were once many regional #GirlScout cookie bakers across the US.
One of the earliest was Richmond’s Southern Biscuit Co., which became an official baker in 1937. It later joined Interbake Foods and continued baking under the FFV label — a clever play on “First Families of Virginia” and “Famous Foods of Virginia” — before becoming ABC Bakers.
By 1948, 29 licensed bakers operated nationwide. That number steadily shrank until the 1990s, when the Girl Scouts reduced it to just two: ABC Bakers (Richmond’s Interbake Foods) and Little Brownie Bakers in Louisville, Kentucky (a Keebler division).
The Richmond factory has since closed and is now condos. Something special has been lost.

Today I have written to Endometriosis South Coast to urge a reconsideration of this appointment.

My family settled Virginia in 1620, over a century before the “founders” wrote their constitution. The idea that someone can shit out a baby and have them automatically become just as American as me is insane. America isn’t the constitution and the constitution isn’t America.
