@RubbishWife Never had that. Anyway, it seems all the stuff I like is subject to the moral police telling me how bad it all is (coffee, beer, spicy food, bacon sandwiches, rare steak etc etc etc) and frankly I don’t give a fuck. I’m not remotely interested in extending a miserable life.

One year of no alcohol! Do I miss it? Miss the sundowners, the long slow bottle of wine, the buzz of the alcohol. Don’t miss the headaches, the feeling of being out of control, the waking in the night. Feel much healthier without it.

Just occasionally they can tolerate each other. Mutual fur-warmth innit.

In all honesty, can anybody claim to know the words to ‘Footloose’ without having looked them up ? I mean, I get “Gotta cut loose, footloose, face like a bitch-slapped moose” but after that it’s a real struggle.

@TomFoxTom I had to sing it in a bloody panto one year, dreadful song. Luckily I was off stage in a booth for it so I stuck the words to the wall and never bothered learning them
