I think people often forget that the 2020 election, much like the 2016 election, was narrowly won. While Biden’s popular vote count is often cited and is indeed impressive, it doesn’t really have a direct impact on the Electoral College outcome. Biden won Arizona by 10k votes, Georgia by 12k, Nevada by 33k, Wisconsin by 20k, and Pennsylvania by 81k. These margins aren’t impossible for Trump to overcome, especially when considering third-party candidates who are, or may end up on the ballots in these states. You couple that with mixed enthusiasm for Biden and things could end up shocking a lot of people.
