First trip to Scotland since I stopped doing the HT550. With the family in tow I feel reponsible for everyone's enjoyment. Impossible to believe it's not ruined. It's so busy, people can charge £288pn for 1 bedroom flat. And I know the REAL secret. Wild camping is THE best option

Well things have suddenly been turned upside down. Bike art will soon recommence. Here’s what is sketched out and ready to pastel. It’s one of a few new paintings for prints linked to the PBP. There’s also a new PBP commemorative linocut on the drawing boards.

@ameliaboone @slorgebutler I suppose there's "running through" and "doing hill reps". Though our hill-based cemeteries can be kinda spooky with the occasional gravestone at a jaunty angle.

@slorgebutler Oh this is interesting - I actually have run through cemeteries before when visiting cities with few places to run away from cars - always wondered about the appropriateness of it

Found a balloon on today's walk. "Ash always in our hearts from Rach, mum, dad and nan". They believe she will float on that sparkly balloon for all eternity... I stamped on it twice, stabbed it with keys and binned it with Lena's poo. Thanks Ash, for making my dog shit sparkly.

@NorthRoadCycles I’m medically blind with a long white cane and white walking stick so can’t always feel the line and overhanging hedges mean I may meander over it. I try to stay furthest from the road, in a straight line by shorelining (my cane touches the small verge by the hedge as it sweeps).

Based on my use of shared bike and walk routes, I've come to the conclusion that the vast majority of pedestrians can't walk in straight line. Instead, they meander in a wavy line formation, lurching from one side of the pathway to the other. No amount of bell ringing can counter this.

@bearbonesnorm You have to recognise some problems can't be fixed. It's difficult for engineers to get their head around, I know.

Artificial intelligence? Surely we could have had a decent stab at sorting out natural stupidity before we went down that road?

I've been working with a female senior manager at work and today we wrapped up with one of those "been a pleasure" / "likewise" convo's and on further examination, it turns out we both just really enjoy having meetings where no one is being patronising.

After significant work in organising a coalition to protect the Upper Derwent Valley from any water storage developments, we are pleased to learn that Severn Trent Water are not progressing their plans. We will issue a statement on this news tomorrow.
