On behalf of the Honorable Minister for Education, Haruna Iddrisu, I joined stakeholders and partners at the Sponsors’ Appreciation Ceremony of the Ghana Teacher Prize 2025, organised by the National Teaching Council (NTC) at the Tang Palace Hotel in Accra. The engagement was basically to recognize the sustained commitment of sponsors whose support has elevated the Ghana Teacher Prize into a symbol of national excellence. I reiterated the significance of this occasion within Ghana’s broader education transformation agenda, and teachers remain the backbone of our education system. Additionally, recognising teachers' dedication across both rural and urban communities is central to improving quality learning outcomes. I reaffirmed the government’s commitment to strengthening the teaching profession through improved conditions of service, structured Continuous Professional Development, teacher welfare interventions, and ongoing licensure reforms to ensure a smooth transition from training into professional practice. On behalf of the Minister, I want to thank all sponsors and partners for their invaluable support. Together, we will continue to promote excellence in teaching and build a stronger, more resilient education system for Ghana.

Exactly 7 years ago, we launched our literacy program for expectant mothers, fostering a love for reading. It was themed "The Pregnant Reader, The Intelligent Baby." The workshop has had a lasting impact on pregnant women, on the need to start Reading Aloud to the unborn child.
