The admin slashed high tech research at top universities to pressure them to impose pro-Israel DEI speech codes last year and now is extending cuts to research to pay for Israel’s war in Iran. Our country is getting hollowed out by a foreign power. It’s the end of the west.

NEWS: Massive budget cuts for US science proposed again by Trump administration "It's an extinction-level event for science". The US government is proposing massive cuts to almost every branch of science, from NASA to the National Institutes of Health. NSF would completely eliminate the social, economic and behavioral sciences directorate. This would decimate the world's leading scientific system. nature.com/articles/d4158…

Distinguished Harvard Prof. Stephen Walt on Israel's Achilles heel: "Israel has been fighting in Lebanon, Gaza, Syria... [and] now... against Iran... This is a small country... trying to exercise hegemony over a vast region... [and] it's gradually wearing out its own forces."

Israel needs to get sanctioned by the international community should they further push the world economy into the abyss Every cent, dollar, euro, or pound we pay extra at the pump and on food inflation, we pay for Israel’s desperate attempt to turn a losing war around

Trump, stuck in a deadlock of his own making, effectively threatens to drive everyone off a cliff. This is definitely not where he or his advisers thought they would be at when they launched this war of choice. But now they are stuck, desperate, and reaching for the catastrophic escalation scenario: Ground invasion and/or widened attacks on Iran’s energy and critical infrastructure. This will not lead to Iran capitulating to demands like giving up its oil and disarming itself. To the contrary, precisely because Iran sees this war as existential, it will trigger harsher Iranian retaliation against energy infrastructure across the region. This will precipitate a far greater global economic shock, one that will be even harder to reverse anytime soon. All of this driven by ego, vanity, and a willingness to risk everything rather than admit their all-or-nothing approach has failed and pursue a middle ground diplomatic solution.

"Hey, uh, anyone know of pro-war regime change enthusiasts whose process critiques won't challenge my priors or cause my delicate, pro-war intellect to reconsider my whole shameful career as a warmongering propagandist for Israeli hegemony?" This dude is such a fucking clown.

Iran has the most beautiful modern brickwork apartment designs in the world and among the most treasured ancient heritage sites spanning thousands of years. This war is no different from the ISIS savages who destroyed Roman ruins — it’s a war of barbarism

Repeated attacks near an operating nuclear power plant is beyond criminal… it is risking a catastrophic radioactive release that could render large areas uninhabitable for decades and contaminate the surrounding environment!! #nuclear_disaster

For all his faults, Netanyahu is a remarkable politician. He has managed to get not one, but two consecutive US presidents to destroy their own presidencies either as a result of his direct advice or simply to shield him. Unheard of.

One thing I dislike intensely about Israel discourse in America is how it is considered something only Jews get to discuss. It's not. All Americans need be able to talk about Israel openly and what a huge problem it is for our country without being accused of antisemitism.

Complete bullshit. The 60% material was generated as a bargaining chip in order to get a new nuke deal to replace the decent Obama deal (JCPOA) Trump shit-canned in May 2018. It was to be the same trade of enriched material to be sacrificed in return for sanctions relief that the Iranians made in 2015. Actually, they have been enriching uranium since 2006 and at any time could have strung together enough centrifuges to enrich to 60% or even 90%. What they didn't know how to do and still don't have the capacity for is to engineer, fabricate, test and prove out a nuclear bomb. That's the 90% hard part--anybody with a a few hundred centrifuges can run pass after pass thru a cascade of centrifuges starting with 0.7% U-235 versus 99.3% U-238 in the natural uranium hexafluoride gas, inching up the U-235 ratio to reactor fuel grade (3.67%) and bomb grade (90%) at a rate of 0.5% U-235 gain per pass. But that isn't close to a break-out and actually it's no"break-out" at all. You have to know how to engineer, machine the metals and explosives, fabricate the delicate clockwork of the bomb parts, test and prove it out before you even get a breakout to one bomb---one that could easily fissile if everything is not done perfectly. But Iran stopped working on the whole bomb-making process 23 years ago and has not restarted it since then according to all the NIEs (national intelligence estimates) by the 17 intelligence agencies---up and through Tulsi Gabbard's congressional testimony of March 2025. So you are just another sucker for Bibi Netanyahu's scurrilous lie about "4 weeks to a breakout" that he's been making for upwards of 30 years. Finally, he found a reckless fool who is too lazy to dig into the facts in Donald Trump and is doofus Sec Def and neocon Secy of State. The fact is, his predecessors weren't kicking the can down the road-----they were appropriately ignoring the hideous lies of the war-loving neocons and Bibi Netanyahu---the most dangerous war criminal of our times.
🇺🇸 Ronald Carter@USronaldcarter

I just got off the phone with someone who works in defense policy in Washington. What they told me should end every "Trump is reckless" argument permanently. "Every single president since Clinton received the same intelligence briefing on Iran's nuclear timeline. Every single one was told the window was closing. Every single one chose to kick it down the road because the political cost of acting was higher than the political cost of waiting." Trump got the same briefing. 60kg of 90% enriched uranium. 4 weeks to breakout. Material for 2 bombs. He chose to act knowing it would tank his approval to 35%. He chose to act knowing his own base would split. He chose to act knowing NATO allies would refuse to help. He chose to act knowing gas prices would spike. A senior analyst I know at a major think tank put it this way: "The difference between Trump and every president before him isn't intelligence. They all had the same data. The difference is courage." Read that again. Every president had the same file on their desk. Only one opened it and did something. I'll keep you updated. Turn on notifications. 🚨

Notice how quickly all that bullshit about liberating Iranians disappeared, and now it's all about bombing them back to the Stone Age, destroying their bridges and universities, poisoning their air and water, and stealing their oil.

NEW: In a remarkable interview set to air on CBS Easter morning, the conservative archbishop who leads Catholics serving in the U.S. military says the Trump-Vance White House's war against Iran is impermissible under Catholic teaching. Asked to respond to Pete Hegseth's claims that God is guiding the military effort, Archbishop Broglio said the war is not “sponsored by the Lord.” substack.com/home/post/p-19…
