@Rohith739 @UKGFirst @DrHWazir I don't think it's easy, but this is what UK grads have had to battle with for competitive specialities like surgery for years already. It's inconvenient but as I said I'm not sure what other options there are to reasonably give UK grads a fighting chance given circumstances.

UK Grad priority has been handled poorly But where were you 5yrs ago? Cowering in fear of being called racist, or actively involved in calling others racist for bringing it up? IMGs suffer today because our silence yesterday prevented a sensible & fair solution being discussed

I have some news; I am running for the British Medical Association Council. If you are a BMA member please vote for me; "I am standing for BMA Council because doctors need representatives who understand how power operates in the NHS - and how decisions made at the top land in reality. I work in A&E, where political and workforce failures translate directly into risk and harm for patients and staff. I do not just understand doctors’ anger about pay, morale and conditions, I live it. Alongside my clinical work, I have spent twelve years pursuing a fiercely contested whistleblowing case and supporting doctors in similar situations. I have seen how employers, regulators and lawyers can combine to silence doctors who speak truth to power or scapegoat those who remain silent. Doctors carry responsibility for patients, yet too often lack power and protection. I have worked closely with the BMA on my own case and have seen it increasingly win these fights for others. These successes matter. They protect patients, defend doctors, and change culture."

Everybody should vote for their chosen candidates in the upcoming BMA election. But for the love of god, don’t vote for people who can’t even be bothered to show up to RDConf. Or the ones that show up to ARM but can’t be bothered to speak up.

@UKGFirst @DrHWazir Hi. Like the others on the list I firmly support a min 5 yrs as reqd NHS exp for prioritisation of applicants to training schemes. Given the overwhelming nos of applicants, disparity b/w medical school & dr training places, we can't expect to make an impact with anything less.
