@5054magazine I had this exact colour and with the recrao leather. It was my favourite mk4 and would still have it if a lorry had not driven into the side of it.

Another period VAG beauty. Totally original MK4 GTi with the unusual Recaro leather interior. Excellent wheels. Owner popped up behind me, said always thinking it should be replaced, but can't find a reason.

I’m in a situation where I might be moving house, 300 miles north, tomorrow or Friday. Nobody can tell me because the solicitors have done something daft again, which may or may not mean I move tomorrow, or the whole thing collapses. I feel like I’m getting a stomach ulcer

@JazRignall @AndyR72 Me and a friend rescued one from a shed a few years ago and replaced the motors with brushless ones and used lithium polymer batteries and it absolutely flew probably about 45 kph. But also utterly terrifying to drive on the road.

@AndyR72 Oh yeah for sure. I have an electric bicycle, and it's brilliant. I'd happily roll around in something like a C7 if it had similar speed and range. My uncle had an original C5, and its lead battery took eons to charge, and its range was pretty poor.
