The Value Betting Guide is built around one principle: price the race first, then compare it to the market. Every runner is assessed through my VB Ratings and converted into a full tissue line, creating a fair view of each horse’s chance before looking at the odds. The race cards sit at the centre of the platform and contain this key data. They update with live exchange prices and automatically highlight where value may exist, or where it doesn’t. That clarity is key, not every race presents an opportunity. Alongside that, the Data Centre supports the picture with additional context around suitability, pace and overall profile. The core of what I offer is built around: • VB Ratings • A structured pricing methodology • Value identification tools • Interactive race cards • My own daily analysis and bets The tipping side is simply an extension of that process. The bets I put up each day are my own, based on the same ratings, pricing and value approach that underpins everything on the site and has been central to my long term punting success. There is also a free race card available daily, allowing anyone to see the process in action. Membership starts from £8 per month, deliberately priced to keep a disciplined, data-driven approach accessible. This is not about chasing winners. It’s about making consistently better betting decisions over time. Visit us and take a look around, link in bio. Please get in touch with any questions which I'm always happy to answer. #valuebettingguide #racinganalysis #racingtips

A brilliant win for Gary Woodland today. First win since 2019. In 2023, he had part of a brain tumour removed and has had plenty of struggles since then including PTSD. Bumped into him in a golf shop in 2022. The nicest fellah you could ever meet. A gent. Great stuff. 👏👏

@racingoncourse Yup, I’ve always wondered why they position the Lincoln quite so early, in the absence of other turf meets.

Start to turf flat season is baffling. After two days of turf flat racing at Doncaster, there are two turf flat meetings in the next eight days. And thirteen all weather.

@brucemillington The national lottery is another to add to the list. The acceptable face of gambling that’s allowed to promote with extensive reference to “good causes”. Scratch cards and instant games right up there with the machines at the bookies in terms of potential harm.

There has been a sharp increase in the amount of adverts for “investment platforms” like HL, IG and AJ Bell. These companies use terminology that no bookmaker would ever be allowed to use and are under no duress to drown us in responsible gambling messaging. It seems unfair.

It’s such a delicate and emotive subject. I’ve written pieces on my site from a similar angle; that for some of us, racing, analysis and gambling have actually been stabilising forces during difficult periods. I recently read a compelling article showing that people with gambling addictions almost always have underlying vulnerabilities. Gambling becomes the outlet, but removing it without addressing the root issue often just shifts the behaviour elsewhere, whether that’s alcohol or something else. That’s why the wider context matters. The associated issues need attention, not just the gambling itself.

Feel for the fella, but there are two sides to every story, gambling and racing has given me focus, and a life lived to the fullest: I was at my lowest before I moved into racing and gambling, yet not stories will be told of that side of things. Fully get some people struggle, but you can't blanket blame gambling:

All credit to Haas Boy at Ascot who was super strong at the finish after what looked a costly mistake at the last.

Few thoughts and clips from the Gallop morning for the Aidan O'Brien string this morning. It was a pleasure to be there and I hope you all enjoyed some of the clips I was able to take . Mornings like this are certainly not taken for granted

@joshtoole91 It’s ridiculous. Flat racing in the UK is like that annoying mate who is always late, no matter what.

Doncaster 1st race already 5 minutes late off, yes it’s a 23 runner field but it’s just not good enough is it really ? Something needs to be done about the appalling time keeping in uk racing, it’s actually laughable

Thanks Matt, I appreciate that these things are looked at and the sport is committed to welfare. My only point was that, while these reviews obviously take place, in this instance there didn’t seem to be any brief public note confirming that the incident had been looked at. And this was the context of my reply to the original post. Given the circumstances, that small step would maybe be worth doing in the circumstances. Maybe not though, not a massive issue. On your second point, while I don’t really get the reference to pets or other equine disciplines, I’m not questioning the level of regulation in racing. I’m simply saying that when a fatality occurs in such unusual fashion, a short published update feels consistent with the sport’s commitment to transparency. That’s all I was getting at. Don’t think we’re on different pages on the whole!

@VB_Guide @tony_calvin @BHAStewards @BHAHorseracing In your second paragraph, all of those things happen. As for your first paragraph, you’re aware that this is a licensed, regulated industry, under the spotlight? Transparency in the pet world, including horses, and other horse disciplines, would make you question your concerns.

Just polishing off running order for tomorrow morning and I am surprised that there was no published @BHAStewards stewards report on the day into Yummy at Wetherby. The @BHAHorseracing would well do well to recognise it was looked into, especially in light of Loughnane incident.

I’m firmly in the pro Irish racing camp and expect a better deal from RTV considering the cost they charge. But in this specific case, I’d be in the Dubai World Cup camp. RTV are infuriating though. Don’t know why they can’t have an RTV2 channel like so many other sport channels do. Also annoys the hell out of me that I can only watch it on my main sky TV box and not the mini box. Rant over!!

is this right? Meydan took priority over the Curragh?
IAN MACKIE 🌱@Mackie4Ian

@tony_calvin @AKBets Racing tv putting Maydan front and centre even deciding to show a race at Maydan instead of the 4.50 at the Curragh live yet more evidence of Irish racing being treated like just an add on who’s going bet at Maydan it’s industry priced up & most punters are not interested in it.

I’d simply want reassurance that the incident had been reviewed and that there were no welfare issues or concerning circumstances involved in the fatality. To be clear, having watched the race, I’m fairly certain there were no such issues at all. That said, for the sake of the horse, its connections and, to a lesser extent, the wider racing public, it feels appropriate to confirm that the case was looked at and that no avoidable factors were involved. No need for detailed specifics; just a brief acknowledgement in line with the stewards’ role and the sport’s commitment to transparency.

@AtTheRaces @Ascot Very impressive horse and a great ride. Toby Lawes to be the next rising star on the national hunt scene? 5 years as Henderson’s assistant is about as good a schooling as you can get, I’d say.

@AtTheRaces @DoncasterRaces @LeonnaMayor Dark Thirty has a bit to find on my figures. My tissue points toward Korker and It Just Takes Time as being the value plays. On balance I’ll likely have a small play on the latter at a big price who has gone well fresh in the past.

Spent most of the last year building the site properly and growing organically. Not rushing it. Not pushing it early. The aim now is simple: Grow something consistent, data-led, and accessible for everyday punters who want a structured approach to betting, with a value pricing model to match our value betting principles. No hype, no noise. Just process and value over time. If you’re into racing, value, or just enjoy the analytical side of the game, please give me a follow. Likes, replies, shares all appreciated. Always open to conversations about our sport. Give us a look, link in bio.

It's great to have the flat back, although as always it's like a bit of a false start with the bulk of the action returning to the jumps and all weather over the next week or two. Not a complaint as such, but I've always wondered why the Lincoln meeting isn't placed closer to the start of the rest of the turf season?

Interesting one at Doncaster today. Do we trust what we saw yesterday on the straight track? Low numbers looked favoured… but: • One day = tiny sample • Bias or variance? • Conditions change quickly Flat racing is full of these judgement calls and is one of the reasons I love the puzzle. Curious where people land on this one?

I don't think he will, but you really never can be sure with Ballydoyle. Think they'll be desperate to get a mile out of him with future breeding in mind. And who's to say how he'll come out of yesterday's run. 2 weeks is a long time at this time of year, especially the way O'Brien trains them. A fitter horse, on much better ground with the experience of a mile under his belt. Maybe Newmarket will be a different story.......
