The Value Betting Guide is built around one principle: price the race first, then compare it to the market. Every runner is assessed through my VB Ratings and converted into a full tissue line, creating a fair view of each horse’s chance before looking at the odds. The race cards sit at the centre of the platform and contain this key data. They update with live exchange prices and automatically highlight where value may exist, or where it doesn’t. That clarity is key, not every race presents an opportunity. Alongside that, the Data Centre supports the picture with additional context around suitability, pace and overall profile. The core of what I offer is built around: • VB Ratings • A structured pricing methodology • Value identification tools • Interactive race cards • My own daily analysis and bets The tipping side is simply an extension of that process. The bets I put up each day are my own, based on the same ratings, pricing and value approach that underpins everything on the site and has been central to my long term punting success. There is also a free race card available daily, allowing anyone to see the process in action. Membership starts from £8 per month, deliberately priced to keep a disciplined, data-driven approach accessible. This is not about chasing winners. It’s about making consistently better betting decisions over time. Visit us and take a look around, link in bio. Please get in touch with any questions which I'm always happy to answer. #valuebettingguide #racinganalysis #racingtips

People do make money in play trading, for sure. Equally people lose at it too. It takes a special sort of skill to be good at it. Suppose my only point was that there was no way at any point in that run that the horse’s probability was 1.01. Yes he looked the most likely winner, but at no point a certainty to that kind of level.

@VB_Guide @Tomptin They obviously make money doing it or they would’ve gone broke… you don’t mention the 120 other times the horse goes clear and wins

Another look at the VBG Free Race Card, 14:32 Newmarket Earlier this morning I sided with Marnier, and this still feels far more about monitoring where the live value sits than needing to rethink the original angle. Asgard’s Captain rates highly and Pride Of Donegal brings credible recent substance, so this is not lacking depth, but Marnier still appeals as the runner whose profile may have a little more upside than his current market position fully reflects. The Southwell form reads well, the Gosden patience is notable, and this could easily be one of those cases where a horse’s progression becomes clearer once things begin falling into place at four. In races like this, the ratings help shape the picture, but there are often supporting reasons beneath the surface to rely on too. Link in bio - Free 7 day trial available.

Our National Hunt expert, Shug Pearce has went through the Aintree card tonight, and Calimystic looks a particularly interesting one in the 18:55, currently priced at 2/1. Still early in his chasing journey, but Sandown suggested a horse beginning to properly understand the job, travelling strongly, jumping with growing authority, and shaping like a 6lb rise may not have closed him down just yet. My Bobby Dazzler and Aboutdamntime bring solid credentials, but Calimystic looks the progressive angle. Shug’s full Aintree preview and four bets are live for members now. Boycey’s Blog is now live on the VBG Today’s piece covers why Marnier looks such an interesting free race angle in Newmarket’s 14:32, why major multi-card days can reward selective discipline more than blind volume, plus key thoughts on Hamilton, York and Shug’s Aintree angles. A busy day, but still very much about choosing the right spots. Free 7 day trial for full members access. Blog link: valuebettingguide.co.uk/news-and-views…

VBG Daily Free Interactive Race Card with VB Ratings, Tissue Odds and Live Value Scores 14:32 Newmarket - Marnier is today’s free race selection, and this looks exactly the sort of Class 3 handicap where profile, stable intent and current market value combine well. He is not top-rated outright, but he sits firmly in the leading cluster on my VB figures, holds a standout Value Score of 5, and crucially the current market still looks more generous than my tissue suggests with a general 13/2 available. The Gosden team keeping faith with this one is of note and in a race with each-way potential, Marnier looks a notably solid betting proposition rather than simply the obvious one. Link in comments

@tony_calvin I’ve always taken stable form with a pinch of salt as there can often be a whole range of reasons, not least simple variance. But sometimes it is very difficult to ignore. Agreed, it must be a concern for them.

Dear X. Can we get a reset button on the algorithm please? Would help when you end up watching a few too many videos about controversial VAR decisions and your timeline is then unbearable with the same boring crap on repeat ad infinitum. Thanks in advance…….

VB Bets are now live for members. Free 7 Day membership available to all, details on the site. The Dante is naturally the headline today, though from a betting perspective not every feature race demands involvement simply because of profile. This is one I'm happy to maintain a watching brief for. Today’s free race comes from York’s 16:40, where Simplify heads the analysis, while the wider card offers a full mix of VB Ratings, interactive race cards, live Value Scores, Value Generator, Data Centre insights and all member VB Bets. Some days are about volume. Others are more about choosing where the stronger opportunities genuinely sit. Full site content is now live. Free 7 day trial available if you'd like to see more of what we do. Link in bio

Boycey’s Blog is now live on the VBG Today’s piece covers why the Dante can still be a great race without automatically being a betting race, where discipline matters on major cards, and a deeper dive into my selection in one of the later races on York's card. VBG Daily Free Interactive Race Card with VB Ratings, Tissue Odds and Live Value Scores 16:40 York - Simplify is the one I’ve sided with. She sits right at the top of my VB Ratings, carries the standout Value Score of 5, and importantly this is not just a numbers case detached from profile. She arrives chasing a four-timer, has already shown a notably progressive curve, and her Data Centre profile backs that progression up strongly enough. This is a rise into Listed company, but in a strongly run 5f, her blend of current form, pace adaptability and market position makes her look a fair example of where chance and value may still be slightly misaligned. York rarely gives much away, but this looks a solid case. Race Card in comments. Free trial details available on the site.

Our resident national hunt expert Shug Pearce has his jumps preview up for members today, and I’m happy to give his Nap a free shout. 3.43 Perth - Sir Carnegie - 7/2 He has become a solid, reliable staying handicap chaser, shaped well here last time, and the slightly longer trip could suit him nicely. Not flashy. Just the right sort of horse for the job. Link in bio. 7 Day Free Membership available

York is back First day of the Dante meeting, and it has the feel of a cracking few days ahead, especially with the Lockinge waiting on Saturday. My free race card today is the 2.20 York, where Plage De Havre makes plenty of sense on both ratings and price. Strong on the figures, strong enough in the market, and back under conditions that should suit him much better. Race card link in bio. Free 7 day trial available if you want to try us out.
