Virginia is home to one of the top-performing aquaculture industries, with shellfish farms generating $112.6 million in annual sales and supporting over 1,367 jobs, according to a study from @virginia_tech. Passage of federal legislation like the AQUAA Act will create a clear regulatory framework for offshore aquaculture, creating more jobs and further helping to increase our supply of sustainably raised American seafood.
