@sleepy_devo What if Hasan is actually a capitalist in disguise? He's a secret agent meant to expose the most deranged commies (his followers) and break the socialist regimes from the inside.

🇨🇺 Cuba begins its largest economic reform since the 1959 revolution The country's parliament unanimously approved radical reforms that provide for the privatization of a significant part of the economy. The plan provides for private real estate development, the creation of private banks, the transformation of some state enterprises into commercial companies with shares, and the easing of restrictions for private business. The turn towards the market was supported by the Communist Party and the country's former leader, Raúl Castro, against whom the United States recently brought charges in connection with the downing of humanitarian aid planes in 1996.

@TrodRoughshod @msvetov

@junebugparadise I've tried the original several times and I still don't get it. It's kind of weak compared to Innocent Sin, both in story and especially in gameplay.

@JanSturk @IuliiaMendel I don't want to believe, I want to survive.

In Ukraine, there are two camps. One stands for peace, the other for war. And it’s time we spoke about this openly.
I believe the latter are fewer in number, yet far louder than anyone else. Of course — behind them stand enormous funds for propaganda and a license for impunity. They have thousands of talking heads, useful idiots, and people paralyzed by despair.
They are ready to intimidate, harass, unleash bots, turn half the nation into “enemies of the people,” lecture and moralize, and teach you that your sons must die for the state. They insist that if you want the war to end, there’s something wrong with you — you’re naïve, stupid, or even insane.
They claim there is no corruption, that all Ukrainians must remain poor, and that the conscription officers — which hunt men like animals and are notorious for torture and human rights abuses — are mere “Russian propaganda.” They say peace is impossible solely because of Putin, that the best hero is a dead hero, and that everyone shown on television is telling the truth.
And then there’s the eternal message: “Just endure a little longer.” A few more months and we’ll win. Another six months and Russia will run out of resources. One more year and the war will be over.
Every autocracy has had its propaganda. And every one operated on the same principle: silence, destroy, and hound the critics — while filling the media with the “right” people and the “right” messages.
This summer, the last attempt this year to end the war will be made. It will be presented as American pressure, a betrayal of the Ukrainian people, especially Zelenskyy, or collaboration with Russia.
They notice only the negative, and only when it’s time to shift blame onto someone else.
As you may have noticed, according to Zelenskyy, everyone is guilty. Biden is guilty for talking about war and sowing panic. The West is guilty for not giving weapons on time. Trump is guilty for negotiating with Putin and trying to bring everyone to the table. Ukrainian men are guilty for not wanting to go to the front. Refugees are guilty for leaving and thus not being patriots. Critics are guilty because Ukraine is losing because of them. Deputy ministers, ministers, and long-time partners are guilty as they were caught in corruption. The only ones who are never guilty… are two specific people. I won’t name them.
So this time, once again, everyone will be blamed. Zelenskyy will face a choice: either drag the war out further, or once again play the role of the unfortunate victim who, under pressure, is forced to do the unforgivable.
We are offered various options to end the war, but our leadership rejects them all. The price of continuing the war is always the same — more rivers of Ukrainian blood, another horrific winter without electricity or heating, and hundreds of thousands more refugees.
If this summer there is no peace agreement — any agreement at all — even a shaky ceasefire or a halt to large-scale shelling, the war will drag on at least until March. Because the United States, the only viable mediator and influential player, will be preoccupied with mid-term elections, then winter holidays, and then there will be the fifth anniversary of the war…
Once again, we will be told to “endure a little longer,” and once again we will be fed stories about how Russia is about to collapse any day now.
The people writing these messages are not stupid. They simply believe that we — all of us — are.

@JanSturk @IuliiaMendel Those words would mean nothing when there are no people left in the country.
English

@Vinent17 @IuliiaMendel Ukraine needs justice and peace from a neighbor who tried to conquer the entire country.
English

@JanSturk @IuliiaMendel Ukraine needs nothing. Ukraine is an idea. It's what Ukrainians want what matters. Ask a thousand Ukrainians what they want and you'll get a thousand different answers. But the silent majority is more than okay with losing territories, including those who used to live there.
English

@IuliiaMendel Ukraine needs peace but they also don't need to lose too much land to Russia.
It seems like they are taking back land now so they deserve the success.
But they must not become overconfident and forget that a peace agreement is important.

@aka_yuuki_ @MentisWave That's a fantastic idea. Windows sucks. I've been using Linux for years and it's amazing.

@MentisWave So what you're saying is conspiracy theorists/right wingers should all move to Linux to fuck over the government from spying and controlling through Windows

@GeorgeN55987 @sleepy_devo So, effectively speaking, Canada is 51st state?
English

@Vinent17 @sleepy_devo No I don't think Dev wants to move to the US, but the US is a major trading partner of Canada so what happens in America directly affects Canada, much more than the other way around
English

all of these "don't comment on american politics, CANADIAN" cuckolds have no leg to stand on when:
- one, they comment on canadian politics regularly
- two, they want canada to be the 51st state, making canadians americans

Shall we add Arisen from Dragon's Dogma? You can romance every single NPC in the game, men and women alike.

@MentisWave I mean the fucking irony is there are decent LGBT characters they could use like Aloy, Shepard, V just to name a few

@WorkElizab Tipping is a leverage customers have on good service. It's not an obligation, but if a server makes the customer feel welcomed and cared for, I doubt anyone would refuse to tip. Even I, who generally opposes tipping, found myself leaving extra when I felt the service was good.

@Maggot20000 @Quintilios10 @Alyxhoppe Because of everyone getting a degree, the actual value of higher education is diminished. Thus we have jobs that have no business asking for a degree doing just that, because the labor market is oversaturated by people with degrees.
English

@Maggot20000 @Quintilios10 @Alyxhoppe Nor did you get my point about the low-income jobs requiring a higher education. It's not the way it's supposed to be. They don't ask for a specific degree, they ask for any kind of degree, since everyone has it and if you don't there's something wrong with you.
English

@Maggot20000 @Quintilios10 @Alyxhoppe No, you didn't get what I said. Taxation is a terribly inefficient way of giving money, as only a fraction of your money actually goes to something good.
English

@Vinent17 @Quintilios10 @Alyxhoppe In finland we have progressive taxes. So the poor get taxes less and the rich taxed more. And the goverment does manage to give money to students, elderly, even the unemployed via taxation. It works quite well here.... anyways i think all goverments should do this, is my point.
