If you get into difficulty in water, remember 'Float To Live'. ✅ lean back ✅ use your arms and legs to help you float ✅ try to control your breathing, call for help or, if you can, swim to safety. If someone is in trouble in the water, dial 999. Never jump in yourself.

As part of our ongoing partnership working with emergency services colleagues, Smethwick Red Watch will be at Sandwell Aquatics this evening from 1830hrs for the Safer 6 campaign. We will be delivering some road safety advice with a variety of interactive activities on offer.

During this morning, multiple crews from @WMFSSmethwick, @WMFSTechRescue and @WMFSWoodgate rescued a dog from the Birmingham Canal on Brasshouse Lane. The dog is now safe and well with our fire crews, and we are currently trying to locate its owners.
