@XRPee1983 At the time it was Gran Turismo for the graphics and CARPG aspects but today its Daytona USA for better tracks and Arcade Gameplay none of that grinding for cash.

@StoneAgeGamer Despite being a cut down version of the Master System I have a soft spot for Master System 2 with Alexx Kid built in. I like it's small size

I've gotten the "pointless/waste/underwhelming/etc" comments, with my NES to SNES ports over the past 5 years. Do whatever makes you happy, brings you joy. You can't please everyone, not everyone will see eye to eye with you, with anything you do in life. If people like the work you do, that's great, if not, well, that's fine too. I'm a family man as well, and my kids have played every single port, and play them over their original NES versions, heh.
Falco Girgis@falco_girgis

Someone said that our Sega Dreamcast ports were a pointless waste of time today and that nobody will play them… Meet my son, who was the first kid to ever play Mario 64, Doom 64, Mario Kart 64, Starfox 64, Sonic Mania, Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City, and now The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time—some of my all-time favorite games from childhood—on my favorite console, the Sega Dreamcast, for his first play-throughs… and his little sister plays with us as well. Despite the fact that we actually do have a thriving homebrew scene of people playing and supporting us, I could not give less of a shit if anyone else plays them or appreciates the work… This is all the validation I need.

@LoveRetroBTW Simcity Snes was the best one. Nintendo added a lot of flair to the game compared to the original PC release and really consolized the experience. I also enjoyed Simcity 2000 on PC but it wasnt a sequel to the Snes game so lost some of the magic for me.

@DerekPascarella I have some problem pal demos that don't work with the rmenu but do work with Rhea when the demo is placed directly on the sdcard and chosen manually. I'm hoping they all work now.

Development of my new "Orbital Organizer" GUI for managing Rhea/Phoebe Saturn ODE SD cards continues to go well! Right now, I'm working at perfecting IP.BIN parsing, which is actually a bit messy due to some devs not following SEGA's rules! I'm programmatically parsing all IP.BIN header dumps from redump.org/discs/system/s… to ensure my technique is 100% solid.

@ArcadeRacing_0 @ShiryuGL The standard raster lighting is artistry you have to be intentional about light sources and what the scene looks like. But raytraced lighting is a model and quite often looks dark in places where the light isn't because thats realistic. Gameplay is King

Now that I've had lots of experience with my new version of GD MENU Card Manager, I decided to build a similar GUI SD card manager for the SEGA Saturn Rhea/Phoebe ODEs. My current CLI tool (github.com/DerekPascarell…) is fully functional, but not nearly as easy to use. Stay tuned!

@DerekPascarella All of my games are in CDI format ripped from my original games so making a new sd card up is better so I can preserve the CDIs.

@WWammy It will also be able to migrate from your existing RMENU/RmenuKai SD cards, but starting fresh might be better for some users.

@mattatronics It was definitely a successor to Street Fighter 2 after years of iterative updates to Street Fighter 2. The story kind of an alt dimension to the it evolves to be quite interesting in Alpha 3. Fantastic game.

Street Fighter Zero Grabbed a CPS-2 A board with the Street Fighter Zero B board recently. While not as classic as the OG Street Fighter II games, this is still one hell of a fighter with an awesome art style and great gameplay. Perfect! ✌️ #Capcom #StreetFighter #RETROGAMING

@sciencegirl Honestly, almost everything is better today. The idea that the 1990s were better is mostly nostalgia. In virtually every measurable dimension — technology, medicine, knowledge, and prosperity — the world has improved.

@gamesyouloved @Retro_Fusion Addams family Snes always reminds me of Ocean I played it a kiosk down town, we had no money so playing it on a kiosk downtown was amazing on the then brand new Super Nintendo. There's also Robocop 3 Snes. But must say they were the king of mediocre 😋

@exQUIZitely For me it started from the PS1 era and that game is Wipeout 2097. I think that's peak Psygnosis to me.

To this day, even 37 years later, the game I associate the most with the Psygnosis logo is Shadow of the Beast. The game itself was fascinating - in the sense that graphics and sound were both perfect 10s, while gameplay was a 3 at best. Maybe I am being a bit harsh, but I think we can all agree that there was a massive gap between how it looked/sounded and how it played. And yet its burned into my memory forever and certainly has its place in gaming history. Psygnosis published around 100 games, but that logo will always give me Shadow of the Beast vibes.

@LoveRetroBTW I was upset with the controller removing 2 buttons that the Saturn controller had. It was alright quite comfortable, at least it had 6 buttons enough for fighting games unlike some regressions like the 3DO and Atari Jaguar controllers. But It could have been so much better.
